Well,

This week has started out great! Monday morning while driving on i95 south.. left lane. I was boxed in and a tractor trailer tire shred hit front of my '00 Lincoln LS sport - and tore right through the front. (I'll post pics soon)

Ripped through the bottom grill near the left fog lamp.. Dented in condensate, dented radiator / cracked. Ripped off plastic skid plate.

Tore up AC hoses, Radiator hose, Tranny hoses.... Will also need new front bumper cover, valance etc.. who knows. The total was $2,800 per the collision shop / mechanic.

Furthermore, While the tow truck driver was backing the car into the lot - he went straight in on an incline -- the car bottomed out and made the tail pipes scrape and drag. awesome!

As it states StateFarm is covering it with my comp. deductible.

Previously... 2 months ago. My transmission went out @ 106,666 miles.. NO ONE where I live would fix it. I didnt complete lose it - I lost fifth gear first. and then i couldn't shift into 4th.. not even with sport mode. So I bought a used transmission from car-parts.com from a salvaged Lincoln LS with 60k miles on it.

Total - $1200 -$600 for tranny w/ shipping - $600 for install & fluids

Right now I owe little over 5G on the car and I have at total of 117,100 miles to date..

Been thinking of just trading it in and calling it quits.. Opinions????

Btw.. Insurance JUST dropped too LOL.

If you could do the upgrade conversion to a LSE front and all I would keep it. Like you said you owed 5g's instead of putting yourself in more debt just repair and maintain

I'll have to check with the collision shop. The guy said parts were already ordered.. Insurance should still cover the LSE Bumper cover eh?

As it stands - im broke at the moment. Had to put the tranny on credit card - still paying it off. Yeah would love a new ride - but just STILL not making enough..
Think I need to get out of the IT field - networking / computers. heh.

Funny thing is that is what I do also IT. It's somewhat helps to know ppl but other than that I would move to a city where there is demand for them or try like I did land a job with the city. Yeah it should but if they ordered the parts already that means your using the insurance company repair shop

When I pulled over (had to - car was gurgling, and lighting up like a Christmas tree)

Stepped in front of car - and antifreeze was spurring out. While I was waiting for AAA , I called state farm and started the claim.. They said I had two options for repair. I picked a known good local collision shop (uses my good mechanic) Good reps.. Wont go to other body shop anymore - previous incident they worked on the paint -- paint is STILL not right after 2 warranty re-dos.

Anyways. I live here in Central florida... I have certifications, Just still not making the pay I need / want - although was told Im getting a raise??

10.xxx something an hour currently is pretty :q:q:q:qty.

Tell me about I did interns and volunteer work until someone finally picked me up it's hard I know. I almost applied to become a cop, always wanted to become one and prob will as I somewhat dislike IT work boring ass sh!t. Things will turn around economy is picking up never know whats around the corner

yah i feel you there - Ive been thinking about sherrifs department too LOL - go figure =)

been actually quite busy with work. We provide managed Services for business. Ive been doing alot of server installs, network installs, configurations.. computer repair.. you name it.

every insurance company ive dealt with wont, they will only put on the car what came on the car(unless you have some customizations and you have those insured as well)

well i dont think there is any way you would still be able to sell a 00 and get the 5k you still owe plus what you still owe on the trans, just to break even and start over, plus buying another car unless you really want to increase your debt by a huge amount
