Door handle

Just from looking at the handle, that's the early version of them...notice the removable counter balance weight..those are the ones that tend to break..just something to keep in mind..good luck dude

Good point on it being the old style. If anyone has one in my color let me know also.

You guys should really consider salvage yards...$40 for a handle is alot..granted, it being the same color is great if you can find them..but if not..then you are gonna want to repaint it, which isn't too difficult, Napa Paint can match the color code and get ya enough to do both handles, if needed, for about $35 a can..

I got BOTH of my Chromed handles from a Conti for about $10 from my local U-pull-it..

I would even go a tad further, and advise anyone who isn't familiar with cars, grab some tools on your day off, go to a u-pull-it yard...and just take a Mark apart..just for the hell of it..it'll give you more experience and confidence when working on your own ride...at least that way
1) you can learn things about the car
2) if you happen to totally screw something up, oh well, at least it's on a scrapper

That would have been great. The only problem is that there aren't any Marks in any of the salvage yards in my area. None. Nada. Zip. I'd have to drive 250 miles to find a Mark in a salvage yard. And I'd rather just plunk the 40 bucks down and have it shipped to my door. But if I could find one in a junk yard I would have already picked it apart for everything I could use.

No Conti's either? Wow... By the way, since you're a Gen2 owner, if youre lookin for a small handle cig lighter..I got the one for Laser out of an old Conti back door ashtray...it's all chrome and has the logo stamped in the top..check his thread, he cleaned it up nice

Actually, I don't know about the Conti. I never asked. I didn't know door handles would interchange until recently. Is there anything else from a Conti that will fit a Mark VIII?

The coolant crossover tube plug will...lol.
There's probably more, but that's just something I always look for.

I've got a passenger side handle from a 94 Garnet Red car. It's the old style though. Someone broke off the tab that the counterweight would bolt to, maybe to ease installation. It looks perfect otherwise. It only had 75k miles.
I've also got a new-style one that's primered with a black spray-paint job over just the outside of the handle. It looks to be in perfect shape also.
Here's a picture...
