Wheel Hub

So it looks like I need to replace a front wheel hub on the Mark. My one question is how the heck does one pull that cap off of the hub? I tried the good old screw driver and hammer trick and got nothing. Is there a trick to it?

It is a regular metal cap coated with some rubber :q:q:q:q. Screwdriver.

I left mine on and didn't have any trouble getting it off

mine was the same you can try big pliers that is what i used to get it off

spray it alittle let it sit a bit then go at it with the hammer and screw driver.

Hit the hub only hard as hell a few times & watch the cap slowly move outward allowing you to get the flathead in there.

Didnt see it mentioned, but ideally use a rubber hammer. Dont go Ripped Camel on it.

no a 32 oz works just fine

I used a chisel on it and a 2.5 lbs hammer and it came off far enough to get the screw driver in there. Now the problem is what size is that nut?

Can you reuse the front nuts? Or are they like the rears and one time use only?

Everything I saw said it was a one time use only so I bought a new one when I got the socket to take the old one off.

That's because the threads are self locking and it being an item that holds the wheel on the car they don't want to see you in a ditch or on top of someone.
