Cat converters

well if you didnt get new cats jet ck e bay i just pick a set of high flow cats for 110.00 incl shipping 2.5 lol...
 
My '02 is 2.25. I believe ALL LSs are 2.25. Magnaflow cat back is 2.25. More is not necessary.

I plan to start my full custom exhaust week after next.. I plan on using the cats off of eBay so I can tell you guys how it turns out.. I am thinking 2.5 and using a reducer down to 2.25 so it will bolt up to the manifolds. I think they are about 40 a piece shipped. They are also stainless..
 
I need to replace mine and the shop my friend sent me to quoted 900 for mangnaflow high-flow cats with 2 year warranty?

Rip off?
Your thoughts ? Anyone in Toronto know a good shop ??
 
I am going to get some reg cats for 600 installed. Not how I would like to spend 600 but I need them
 
Me or angel? I'm in California so I can't order cats off line. They will ship everywhere except here. I have to get them from a shop and some other bull
 
That sounds a lot better than 900+ before taxes

I should get a second opinion like really 900 man thats a lot , even though it's just one of my cats I want to replace them both at the same time.

Should I look onto on line buying or something else...Catco that only American ?
 
Hi flows might be more expensive though
 
You could get some off of ebay and have a shop weld them in. Ask if they would do that. It is what I would do if I could get my hands on some legally

The thing is I can get cats from my buddy for 100 bucks magnaflows but not high flow hmmhmm what to do what to do. Do cats differ should I grab the cheap ones or go all out I am doing my exhaust at the same time Muffler n Tips

To tell you the truth I just need to pass emissions and one of my cats is bad. Do I swap both or just do the one ?

Is it illegal in ur state to grab ones off ebay I know it says legal in 49 states

When Magnaflow was prototyping the system on my LS I asked their flow engineer about high-flow cats. He said the stock cats already flowed very well and the small benefit wouldn't justify the cost.
 
Okay so after thinking this through I'm just going to get the 100 magnaflow cats my buddy can order from his parts ppl slap those on shall I do both replaced the other one last year..Do my Mufflers and tips and not spend 900+ lol wow I just saved 15 % by switching to Geico lol but really 900+ for just cats??


Should I replace both 02 sensors ??

Yeah it is. A shop has to install the right cats for each car, the way they classify a cat a car needs changed, i forgot hoe, but the shop signs a paper saying they installed the proper cat and makes you sign it and they are liable if they installed the wrong cats and all this extra bull.
 
$900 each from Ford? Damn, they need to shop somewhere else for their platinum. I hope to God I never have to replace mine. If so I might have to make a trip to Downey with a hacksaw late some night.
 
Ford replaced my cats a few months ago at 65k miles on my 03 The bill was 2495.00.LS. Since it was under warranty I didn't have to pay anything. They had it done in two days.

Was that towards me :confused:

I also saw a t bird exhaust with cats for 900 for both sides a few weeks ago. Seems better than 900 per cat.
