Ok I am doing the tps on another mark and was wondering if I pull the throttle body will I destroy the gasket? it's never been off the car before. I am guessing that I will. please help and TIA.

Yes, most likely you will. It's going to be hard and brittle and they're cheap so you may as well buy one.

True, if you're careful but you have a 50/50 chance and unless you live in Egypt, close to the pyramids, the gasket should be easy to find. I have bought 4 and they have always been in stock. Call ahead and make sure one is at your local parts store.

If it sticks to the TB, don't touch it because it will break, meaning, don't try to lift up on the edges of it.

Hell even if you cant find the gasket they do sell blank sheets of gasket material.

+1, that black tape is something else. Had some inside my window seal (in house) and it took the pain off.

Was able to locate one at an Autoparts dealer here in Philly. was about 2 bucks IIRC.. they had it in the hub store and had more then 1 in stock.. I was shocked

Always seems to be a 50/50 chance with ford paper gaskets as mentioned above... 50% of the gasket on one part, and 50% of the gasket stuck on the other part! :lol:

I've popped some explorer 5.0 motors apart and never hurt a single gasket... dunno how in the world I managed that either...
