Sent out an extra set of calipers to get powder coated. They just sent me this picture this morning. I wish the logo would've been a little bigger but I guess it'll do. I saw the black calipers with the red logo on Leo's car a little while ago and loved it. I still haven't put on my new rotors or brake pads so I'll put them on and the calipers at the same time in a few weeks.

And the cost you ask?........ Too much :( but we'll see if it was worth it once they arrive.

Powder coating will last way longer on calipers. I just found a place by me that will do it. Just have to find some spare calipers.

Yea, powder coat will last longer. Also, painting them wont get you as glossy finish as powder coat will, I think. I was amazed at how good the powder coated tips came out so I decided to go through with the calipers.

I got mine from a gen2 being parted out on ebay,80 for the set, plus shipping. There are a lot more gen1 on ebay and prob some in your local junk yard.

because a powder coating gun and oven cost quite a bit more than having somebody else do it for you

True, but I think he meant why didn't I just spray paint it myself with caliper paint.

Remember how the caliper is oriented once installed. That should sit fairly vertical.

Agreed! Looks FANTASTIC!! I have been toying with doing this but just went with Dupli-Color's (or was it G2?) caliper paint.

Nice. I think it looks pretty good, but yea looks like that type of work cost alot.

Summit has the gun and powder for a fair price.. I would think, being an aluminum caliper and all, the paint would last.. But I've never used caliper paint so I can't give any input on the last.. I know powder lasts a long time and looks great!

Yours look great man!

guy around me does em for 25 a caliper...

Wow,well in that case it was really expensive on my part. :(..... I got my tips done for 25 each, but the calpers were a lot more. They were shipped today, I hope they look real good to make me forget how much they were

Hey you could have paid me 200ish and I would have gauranteed them for 10 yrs.

hahaha!!!

Hey, I just remembered that there is a power coating place on Stewart/Gray just to east of Woodruff, on the northside of the street.
