Question: Will the 2nd Gen hood work on a 1st Gen LS? I like the look of the 2nd Gen LS hood with it not having the windshield sprayers on top and as I will be needing a new hood as apposed to fixing the existing hail damaged hood. I'm not sure if the hood struts have different mounting locations or with the windshield sprayers not being on top do the hinges have different mounting points or...
Has anybody done this swap before?

i hate hail damage so much, i have a ton of dents on my hood, and a few on the roof and trunk, i have a new trunk lid but im too cheap to paint it right now :D, let me know where you buy your hood from

The cowl is that plastic part that fits in between the base of the windshield and your hood. Gen2 LS's have their windshield sprayers in the wiper arms, so you might need those too.

good guess, but no they f#$*ing dont, the sprayers are in the cowl itself

Do I really even need the cowl?

well yes and no, if you want to properly relocate the nozzles then yes, if you want to try to rig something to spray the windshield washer fluid onto the windshield or just not have sprayers then no

Okay, so just to keep the funtionality of the sprayers I'll need the cowl.
So just to be clear, I'll need the 2nd gen cowl if I go with the 2nd gen hood.
The hoses can be cut to length to go to the spray nozzles in the cowl correct?

My mistake. Was thinking of the Mustang sprayer relocation kit.
