...I think I need a clock spring

Guys;

Just picked up a mint '02 LS V8 Sport with only 39k on it.

Clock spring seems to be on it's way out. The LH steering controls are inop, including the cruise. Horn & Volume controls still work, and the SRS light is NOT on. Assuming I need a clock spring, yes?

Anybody have a Part Number I can search online for a good price?

Shop is going through the car this week........needs brakes all the way around, fluids & filters changed. Hoping we don't find a bunch more stuff wrong with it

Anything that can be done to PREVENT the coil pack failures?? The transmission spring failures?? Or just cross our fingers and go?

clock spring part number may be 14A664


to prevent coil pack failures make sure you have a good vcg seal to not let water in and not let oil out
