So ive searched and all i see is people saying "this might work" or "that might not work"

Whats the widest tire that can go without rubbing on an 18 x 9" or 10" wheel

how about with fender rolling?

I think this should be made a sticky or at least let me gather the info and host it somewhere.

Anyone wanna roll my fenders? I obviously dont have the tool and dont wana mess it up. *COUGH* GENO? I know yours are done :D

Nope. Will not get enough out of it, been there done that. Thats whay I had to cut mine. You get a little more then 1/2 inch more with cutting.

What is it with people not wanting to cut the 1/4 rolls, lmao?? If done properly NOTHIING at all will be comprimised in any way.

what did you do to modify the bumper?

I rolled mine and fit 275/40/18 with ease.

EDIT: NM, I have a 9" wheel

yeah im gonna be running 9" wide wheels now, then when i hubswap will move to a larger width.

The wheel offset is what you need to research, unless you already have. You need at least 36mm on a 9" rim, 40mm would probably be better.

My 275/40-17 DR's are on M179 Cobra R's which are 36mm.

I will cut mine to fit that combo, no problem

I think people dont like "cutting" because they are "hurting" the car and it is not reversable... although it would be a whore to un-roll a set of fenders too...

When the time comes... I'll be hackin on mine too

I want to cut mine but I am not sure how much to cut off. I don't want to cut off too much - also don't currently own anything to cut with.

Heres the TerminVIIIor's wheel well pics before the paint in 1999. No need to trim the bumper at all.

It depends on the tire/wheel (width/offset.) Mine rub on real hard bumps but not on the fender like I orignally thought, it rubs on the bumper cover...

:q:q:q:q....... i think the rims i have bought had a zero offset, do they have those, otherwise i am going to have to sell them... Please tell me it is not possible to buy rims with a zero offset...Damn me for being an impatient buyer.

Yes, you can buy rims with 0 offset (just means the hub face is in the center of the rim.) Check the back of the hub face of the rim for any markings/numbers, hopefully it'll say somewhere on it...

im running a 295/35/18 on a 10" wheel without a fender roll and no problems

LSC8, any idea what your offset is? I am not sure but even when I was in the machine shop machining wheels and reading the blue prints, there was never a dimension showing offset. Never saw it in a casting either.

the inside of the rim says 17X9.0 JJET 26MM my guess is it has a 26mm offset, is this a good thing or bad thing????

I have 275 35 18s with lil to no rubbage. Only time it makes any noise is on big dips with me the wifey and or two girls in the car and my 15s in the back. Oh yeah and the lowering kit prolly doesnt help matters. LOL Seriously tho my rubbage is so slight you dont even see marks on the tires.

285/40/18's on 10" wide rear wheels with a 40mm offset. Just rolled the fenders yesterday. Here's what it looks like with the Ray switch actuated. Sorry the pics kinda suck, it was getting dark outside.
When fully lowered, the driver's fender/top corner of the bumper sits on the tire, but it takes quite a bit of travel to get that to happen, so while driving should be no problem. I may still trim the bumper some day, but I think I'm fine for now.
