My climate control took a sh*t...

i figure ill have to get a new one from ebay or a local junk yard, but i was just wondering if any one else ever had this problem... it started intermittently about 2 weeks ago, and now its happening whenever i boost the fan above two bars on the climate control....looks like its possessed or something ... ah well, my only concern with ebay is that these things are supposedly useless if they are dropped, so i wonder how dangerous shipping is ...and yea, sorry for the cell phone pics

I wouldn't worry about shipping, the DATC's are pretty tough. There are warnings about not using a CD changer or radio /w CD changer if it had been dropped, but I don't recall any for the DATC. The only fragile thing on them is the VF display.

i guess the whole "scrap if dropped" warning sticker on top of the unit is just a precaution?

Maybe it was really meant for the whole assembly with the radio attached, or maybe not. Anyway, if it can survive being bumped around in a car it's whole life, then shipping for a day or two on a truck shouldn't be a problem.

You might be able to recover yours by cleaning the electronics really good with a zero residue cleaner.
