I already changed the idler pulley, alternator, and the little do-nothing pulley. I believe it's the water pump and that is my next swap. I've been looking at cobra style pumps with the extra panel on the impeller. Found a couple good ones for good prices. My question for now is: is the Mark VIII a long or short pump? I found a Stewart long pump used when they built the Saleens (so it says), but it says it's the long one. None of the local parts stores carry the updated water pumps. I already checked.

it's squeaking/squealing. replaced the cheap stuff and working up to the big stuff. My budget doesn't include electric pumps. :( Next is a power steering pump.

cut off a piece of some tube of hose.. and put it up to each pully. or spray some wd-40 on each pully while motor is running( try not to get none on the belt). or take the belt off and free spin the pully, i sprayed some lube and found mine to be a ac clutch pully

None of them make noise free turning. Only when running. I replaced the tensioner/idler already. When the car reaches a good operating temp, the noise seems to quiet waaaayyy down, but i'm only 10 minutes from work, so it barely gets warmed up.

I have had 2 a/c pulleys go bad
this is the remains of one of them

What pulleys and tensioner do you guys use/recommend oem or aftermarket?

I'd say water pump too. Mine made the same noise and a new one fixed the problem. Not really any need in putting a Cobra style pump on unless it's just something you want. It might allow more water flow but the one it calls for keeps the car cool for DDriving.

Don't replace part u don't need to replace u can free turn the a/c pully see where it just turn and start the car and spray wd40 infront of the belt. See if it help quiet the noise down

I've tried the wd-40 method. It works for 30 seconds and then starts squeaking again.

You fix the squeaky pully yet. Which ever one you sprayed and it helped with the squealing that the one that need replaced

Damn you took my pic as your own.. Ha ha
Thats exactly what mine looked like when I was sitting on the side of the road on the PA Turnpike... Smoked a week old Gatorback belt too.
3 hours later Voilà! presto changeo its done!
Sucks when you dont have a puller and have to wedge it off....
