i need 8548c which i believe is the thermostat housing on the 03 ls v8
also pictured here and shipped to 07306, also what other parts would i need like gasket sets, hoses and bolts like, 8548b, hs2, and 8255a, 8575, and 8590.

Contact TeamFord. I've always have had success with them. I've ordered numerous parts from them in the last few years. Just give them a call and tell them what you need.

i have literally called 5 times, i get the lady who picks up and then directs me to max, which then gives me a voicemail and i leave my name AND callback number to no avail. i even got transferred to the parts department and got some guy but when i told him i was lookin for max he directed me to the same voicemail, so i have no other place to reach him but here or go to my dealer and get ass raped. i really dont even care about the price difference its just trying to support lvc vendors u know...but the savings is a nice touch:D
 
That's why I say contact TeamFord. You get somebody pretty much all the time and their prices are pretty cheap too. I'm quite sure if you got in touch with the parts dept. then they should be able to give you whatever you need for the same price. I would think but don't know.
 
Unfortunately for Max when the economy down turned they tightened the screws at 5 Star and now he has a lot more to take care of, means less time online helping us out!
 
I just had all that replaced. the LS left me stranded last Tuesday.

my total bill for the repair was $445.00, I would have done it myself but just haven't had the time.

The coolant outlet pipe was around $70, the gasket $18 and of course the wonderful $40 thermostat:rolleyes:

fairly easy job to do, but my friend had to charge some labor(he has to pay his employee) and that price also included the towing charge.

sounds about right, i mean being that you were stranded it was something you had to do right away. but expensive if u wud compare to the price u wud have paid if u cud have waited.

what really sucks is that it took them a week to fix it....lol
I could of had it done in an hour or two....depending on how many cold beers I would have consumed:D

but I am glad I had it towed to his shop because while I was on the side of the road I thought it was the degas bottle, thats where the steam was rolling out from under the hood, turned out to be the outlet pipe.

oh well, I got it back yesterday so I am happy now.

Now it's time to fix the HEAT, damn DCCV:mad:
 
if im not mistaken, you had to take the intake manifold and the throttle body out in order to get all the bolts from the tstat housing off right? did u have to replace the gasket for the manifold as well?
 
We thought the throttle body would need to come off at first, but it doesn't.

Removal and Installation

Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.
Remove the thermostat housing. For additional information, refer to Thermostat Housing in this section.
Disconnect the throttle body heater hose from the coolant outlet pipe and position aside.
Disconnect the degas bottle hose from the coolant outlet pipe and position aside.
Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the coolant outlet pipe and position aside.
Remove the 4 bolts and the coolant outlet pipe.
Inspect the 2 coolant outlet pipe seals and install new seals if necessary.
To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.



I believe the outlet pipe came with the 2 seals it needs, so I just had it, the t-stat and the t-stat housing seal (#8 replaced

I had to change out the outlet pipe/thermostat housing and a few other parts. It didn't require removal of the throttle body or manifold. It was actually, pretty easy to get to all of it (having the right hose clamp pliers really helps.)

I don't know. I kind of just fooled around with mine, not trying to do it quickly. I think it took me about eight hours, but I replaced the two major hoses, some of the smaller hoses, the two plastic cooling assemblies in the front, the degas bottle and hoses, and flushed the coolant.
 
On mine, they were waiting on the parts, they were shipped the t-stat housing (which I replaced back in Sept. when the t-stat blew out), so they sent it back and had to wait on the outlet pipe. Plus his shop has been very busy, it took them 2 days before they could even look at it.

DUDE! Thats what started leaking on me 2 weeks ago, 8548c, right at the seem. It looked like it's be a paint to reach the back 2 screws to replace it and it would cost a pretty penny so I was dreading having to replace it.I got some super hard expoxy/cemen thing called quicksteel. I tried JB weld but it doesn't work good on plastic and the coolant kept leaking. But this quicksteel hardern in under a min and is good up to 700 degrees. It stopped the leaking so it's a good fix for now.

I had that, the plastic part of the upper radiator hose, and the degas bottle all develop cracks within a few weeks of each other, two months ago on my 04 at about 110/120K miles. JB Weld worked for me, but I sanded around the crack and pump a slight vacuum on the cooling system to try and suck some into the crack. I also left the degas cap loose so that the system wouldn't pressurize. That held for the week or two that it took for me to get the parts.
I will certainly keep "quicksteel" in mind for the future.

I also tried JB weld for another cooling platic part that leaked a 2 months ago. I sanded it down, I didn't do that vacum techinque, and left it over night with no pressure in the pipes, I used the quick 5 min JB weld. When I got home the next night after driving it, I scratched it to see if twas holding up,it was moist and peeled right off with my nail. I'm at 114k and I'll prob start seeing a few other parts start to leak.

thats what a friend of mine did to it until i can get the part so it wont come off anymore. he used some epoxy and welded some clamp on, i mean he sez it will be good for a temp fix, but this being my baby, i gotta do it the right way.
