Ok so technically it's not a Mark but it's basically the same engine so I figured you guys would know... I'm in the midst of cleaning the IMRC's on my Cobra but I've run into a road block. I can't seem to get the coolant crossover tube off for the life of me. I've pulled and tried to wiggle it out but nothing seems to work. The tech articles I've found for cleaning the IMRC's have almost nothing on how you get the damn thing off. Also, I can't get the bolt off to siphon out the coolant from the crossover and all I really found online was to torch it and hope you don't screw it up too bad when you get it out. Do I even need to siphon it here or is there somewhere else that will work? Also, I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not any of the Marks use the same cruise control cable as the 96-98 Cobras?

you do not need to take the crossover tube out to get to the imrc plates, also , you could take and spray pb like said previously, and ya, good luck with that, also when you go to put the tube back on get new o- rings.

i also like how you didn't go and say.."I know that the mark 8 s have cobra motors" because really its cobras have mark VIII motors, cept for the beehive springs

well as far as getting the crossover tube out pb may work i believe the last time i pulled one i used a dead blow hammer to tap it out after it was broke free it came out pretty easy and went in ok.

HORSEPOWER/TORQUE line CRACKS ME UP!!

I would just leave it alone. When I did the cobra intake swap on my MarkVIII, I just left it hooked up, and all I had to do was bend the retaining tabs a bit to get the manifold off. While everything else was out of the way, I sanded off the rust and repainted the tube, and then put everything back, bent the tabs back to where they belong, and all was good.

Well I got the damn thing off... I used my propane torch on the bolt and after a good 5 minutes of heating it, it screwed right out. Getting the crossover out was a bit of a hassle but after enough finagling I was able to get the drivers side pulled from the block which made getting the passenger's side easier. So far I've gotten everything out and cleaned except the IMRC's. Is there a way to get them disconnected from the wiring so I don't have the pull the wiring and actuator out with them?
