Got some weirdness going on with the 93. Under load, like going up a hill, if I ease into the gas to keep speed up the car bucks. Does not matter if OD on/off. If I get into the gas harder, to cause downshift, it goes away. With the radio off I swear I can hear a muffled back fire, but no sure.

No CE light but pulled a code. It was for MLP voltage higher/lower than expected. At first I thought it was the dreaded TC shudder, now thinking MLP since I got the code.

Bought a crank sensor and the MLP with be here this morning. Will do MLP first and see what happens since it's the easiest to get to.

Has anyone done the crank sensor without removing the ac compressor? If not, I guess I get to create some new cuss words!

I could almost say yes but I never made it that far. From what I have read, the compressor just has to be swung out of the way a little and only one bolt is holding it in. Quick swap and then bolting the compressor back in place. I still have a new one here in the box from rockauto.com

Seems like someone mentioned it being a 45 min job. Almost sounds like you do have shudder on the way but don't quote me on that. Hopefully the new MLPS fixes it.

It needs plugs and wires for sure.

It has also done the start up, rev up to 2k rpm, drop to 500 rpm, stumble, fumble, die crap a couple times. That's why I got a crank sensor.

Car sat for almost 9 years before I bought it. All kinds of gremlins coming to the surface since it's been driven a lot.

Hopefully the tax man is good to me and I'll have the $$$ to put into it soon!

I'd save your self the frustration and effort on the cps or the mlps and concentrate on the plugs and wires first..

you could chunk a set of cheapo wires on it to tide you over until obama is finished borrowing money from you.

plugs and wires probably 60ish little more, then put good wires on it later

True dat!

Gonna do the mlp because of the code. Not to excited about cps yet, it's a cheap part.

I wouldn't think it's the cps personally. Since you are getting a code on the MLPS, it's cheap enough to swap out but I'm like Tommy. Some new 764's and even some 8mm Duralast plug wires from AZ would probably fix the problem.

Agreed, plug wires hide their problems sometimes. I was running fine with the cruise set on the highway, car started running like absolute crap out of nowhere. Pulled off, seperated the wires, and ran perfect til I got home. Changed wires, good to go.

+1 for spark issue. Mine does the same on low load. If I floor it and make it switch gears into higher rpm. . It goes away. This happened to me right after I switched plugs and boots.

I'm not sure if it's any difference cuz I have a gen2.

Got plugs and wires ordered from rock auto. They had some closeout wires for $37 and the 764's were a little cheaper there as well.

Idiot at O'Reilly Auto ordered wrong part for MLP, go figure! Got a neutral safety switch instead. I knew I should have looked at the pic of the part he ordered. They want $60 for the MLP and I can get the same part from Advance for $35, so the saga continues!
