New Sub and Amp

I just got my new sub and amp combo in today. After selling my last setup I missed the bottom end in my music. I went with an JL audio w6 and their new five channel amp HD900/5. I was blown away when I saw how small the amp was. As you can see in the pics, this is a very small amp but boy let me tell you this things packs a mighty punch. I don't know how JL did it, combining thier 300/4v2 four channel and 500/v2 mono amp into one small package but they did. This thing is really small for an five channel amp.

my orion will kick those jl's ass....but ur set up should sound good with a good install....wut speakers u goin with
 
Lea, how is the LS coming along with the gen two front end swap?

Edit: I have been fan of JL for a while now. They make some good sh$t.

Well I got the bumper, 03 headlights, and fog lights. I just need to buy the fog light brackets, an 03+ header panel for the lights and the chrome insert for the bottom. Might order everything this weekend. Oh and I forgot the LSE grill. I'm still trying to decide whether or not I want to do angel eyes and a hid kit.

Doors speaker are 6x8 Infinity Kappas. Put the amp and sub in after they came in and talking about amazing. I was running an Alpine four channel on the door speakers before. There is so much realism in the music with this amp. The system is well balanced now I just need to tweak it some more.
 
A friend of mine put a single 10" W7 in his G8 and I was blown away at the sheer power of that thing- and NO distortion at all!
 
Personal preference here, but JL is overpriced. They are an excellent speaker, but you can get similar quality for less money.

I do much prefer SQ to SP though, and JL doesn't disappoint there.

I wasn't gunna say anything, but since you did. JL is one of the most overpriced brands out there. That is not saying they're garbage. But bang for buck is pathetic.

You could have gotten some underground brands that stomp on JL for less. But again this is personal preference and to each his or her own.

Yep you are right. They are expensive. That's why I don't buy nothing local. There's no way I would have bought this stuff at a local shop.
 
That's a good setup & that amp is amazing, this setup is similar to wat I'm getting. Is that the 12inch pro wedge? Let me no how the bass is cuz I wanna get the 10 inch w7 high output with the 9005. And yea jl is expensive but they got great products

Yes it's the pro wedge. The bass is amazing and this amp really sing on the door speakers.
 
Funny you metion those. I was looking at them a while back. Still overpriced. I've been lurking around some online forums. The one I've been visiting recently is caraudioclassifieds.org.

they are expensive but the sound is awesome, another pricy brand is focal but they have good sound the only problem with those is 90 percent of the cars they go in are even acoustically designed so its a waste
 
focals are the shiznitobang too. I can't afford them. I need some new components for the doors.
 
yeah theres no way i can drop a grand for a pair of components. memphis makes some that sound nice they are much more affordable
 
There's a guy on a detailing forum I'm part of that has 4 sets in his GTO. I'm jealous.

i would be mildly jealus as well. lol i liked my kennwood excelon stuff in my old ride i dont have the money to buy :q:q:q:q right now so itll all have to wait
