drive shaft length

LOL. Sorry man. I'm going to be pulling my pumpkin out soon I'll pull the shaft and measure it if you want.. Unless somebody knows the length or can look it up.

I've got a Dynotech MMX with only 2000 miles on it 300.00 + shipping.

why on earth would you pay that much. I got mine from car-part.com for $75 shipped.

Price out a Denny's or Dynotech shaft, especially the 4" one from either. That will make you fall on the floor, lol...

ya but there is huge difference between a summit DS and a Dennys. not even close to the same caliber of product.

how well does the 4" dynotech from super coupe performance rank up compared to a dennys? there is almost a 100 dollar price difference

What is the real performance difference between a factory one-piece and Denny's. Is it really worth hundreds on a car that costs less than $5000?

I'm getting one for $200 (dynotech) with about 300 miles on it, so I am happy.

I don't think there's much, just depends what kind of power you want in the end.

Has anybody broke/twisted a factory 1 piece?

This could be a pointless purchase.. you could be right.

I didn't mean to come across negative. The car i'm getting next weekend has a dennys driveshaft and i'm wondering if it's worth my time to swap it out to mine. The build of mine begins when i get back from the desert in Oct. :D

It's a matter of critical speed and driveshaft vibration is why most upgrade their driveshaft with the Marks, not really that they might break it. A stronger/stiffer one can spin faster before it has concerns...

You can push an aftermarket one to higher speeds than an oem one before it starts to vibrate, which in the case of a gear chage is a very good thing as steeper gears will make it spin faster to do the same wheel speed.
On a stock car with a stock diff, I wouldn't spend the money one one, and even on a mild gear change, I'd try the stock one first then decide from there if it was worth it (I did this with my 4.30's, I first tried a one piece balanced '93 shaft, indexed it to the best spot, still had a bit of a vibe at high speed, put the new driveshaft in and even unidexed it was a bit better, then indexing that one made a world of differece in the end)...

If I was making lots of power then I'd look into one for saftey sake as it's no fun breaking a shaft (I did this on my merc once and it was scary coming to a stop that fast!) On out cars even with loops it needs to go through the plastic gas tank on it's way out so I don't think that would be much fun either. Loops only really protect from a yoke or u-joint failure...
