Turbo LS

Yeah, that stinks!! :(

The lack of space on the car seemed to be a big irratant to the guy...imagine that.

400rwp off a v6. Nice. That would fun to drive. Manual/turbo ls.

When looking at my v6 I have thought to myself that if I ever wanted to go all out that I could to a low profile electric fans and relocated some accessories one custom brackets that there would be plenty of room in there for say a Centrifugal supercharger or a Procharger. There might even be room for a small turbo. Just remember that these are 10.5:1 compression cars and can't take much boost, at least not on 91 fuel. I'm more of a fan or N/A anyway and would probably have custom ground cams after doing all other mods.

We were suppose to have a supercharger (belt driven turbo) kit by now. Shiloh was working on it, but never heard from in over a year. It sure seemed like the rigth project for us V6's. It was to make about 75hp more.

Oh yeah.

I actually talked to him myself yesterday on a PM. He said he had a bunch of pics that showed the entire build that he would send me, but unfortunately he could find them. He was eager to answer any questions though.

Does he still have his ls? How did it hold up?

He said that the LS was a customers car. He said it ran pretty good, but the owner never had it dynoed out or totally tuned. The guy said he doesn't work for that shop that he fabbed the turbo at anymore, but he still knows where the car is and who owns it now.

Oooooooh he just woked on it. MAN! Well atleast he still knows the where abouts of the ls. Would be a nice grab if the owner would ever sell.

Its cool that someone fabbed one up for a v6 but I do not agree with the guy when he said the v6 is faster than the v8.. He also said the v6 is like a cobra motor minus 2 cylinders... er.. no Yea it has 4v but.. yea.. mkay.. Happy Holidays..

sweet work, i bet that f#%@er ripped, but i don't know about doubling the power with LOW BOOST, maybe if by low boost he meant compared to a built evo running 30 psi. it would definitly have to be in the teens which is not low.

if the space was kicking his ass so bad, why didn't he just mount it in the back? i think it would have made it so much easier.

yea i owned a V6 before, its not quicker

remember - the fab work is only half the project.

hopefully we'll see it running around.

and all the vacuum issue... boosting the intake pipe, it's not like the old days - PCV, brake booster, EGR, EVAP, ... it was one of the issues with the STS setup a couple of guys tried here.

Hi Quik, On all of these vacuum lines etc, did you use one-way check valves and such?

nope - the supercharger is after the throttle body - and has a true vacuum side - so I rerouted lines that needed to see vacuum & body to the boost side, and the other lines to the vacuum side, in front of the supercharger but behind the throttle plate.

the vacuum issue stated above is an issue were you boost the intake tube itself - like turbos or blow-through superchargers.

Ok, Gotcha.
