I have a stock 00' V8 LS, and the bottom grille is missing a whole section of the grill, and the right fog light, and I like the look of the LSE style front bumper better....will they just swap right out? and would it line up with the stock fenders and whatnot?

(As in will it look right with the stock everything else body?)
Anyone happen to know someone with a black one for sale?

yes as long as its from the same years (00-02) you will also need the new foglights

the 03+ lse front needs new head lights for it to look right without any gaps

welcome to the club, michigan FTW

you will also want to paint your side skirts and rear valance to match

Thats one of my main reasons is because I like the circular fogs better.

Haha long time no see NYC.

1LoudLS: Why? I would get a black one and my LS is black....are the bumpers/skirts on the LSE different tones or something?

And are there any real differences in the headlights after 03? I do need a new set, it seems like the newer ones have a different look, yet I cant tell :( My uncle has an 06' V8, and his headlights seem so different, yet the same if that makes sense haha

you probably dont need to do anything with a black car, can you tell the difference between the body and the skirts now?

yea the headlights are pretty different on the inside, but the outside is pretty much the same shape, I've had both so i can really see the difference.
but you would only need the new headlights if you want the newer LSE style bumper (which is what your uncle has) the old head lights and the new bumper together leaves a little gap

yes 03-06 are different, and real lse's have side skirts and a rear valance with cutouts for the exhaust. since your is black it won't make much of a diff. but regular ls's have a black bottom molding all around

Ah, I see now, side by side helps LOL. Thanks for all the help so far, are the new headlights (03+) direct bolt on?

Also, I'm trying to find threads on how to bake the headlights to get them apart to paint/remove the amber part...I can't find any how to threads, I don't wanna melt them or anything so I need to know what temp and time todo it for lol

Posts: 311 Man its real easy to do if you have grey sealant headlights.remove headlights from car.Take the little rubber snorkels and the lower metal clips off. Bake in 250 degree oven for 7 min then pull clear lens off the black part. Start pulling in pointy corner. Then you pull out floating center black part. Pop out the orange lens part. I used a razor knife to kinda cut where the orange meets the black to pop lens out. Then reheat parts again for 6 min and press back together. Also I bought the Chrome directional bulbs that flash orange when turned on. Looks super clean now.

Lol thanks guys, I was totally searching with the wrong words haha

no problem...slow day and I'm feeling helpful...

plus i'm trying to out post pete with pics of my car..lol

Haha I don know who Pete is...yet but later on when I get home I'm gonna post a registry or whateer you wanna call it with all my pics and info on my LS...after seeing your guy's pics, I wanna take it to some good scenery filled park and take hundreds of pics LOL

Well there are two that I know of but I think he's talking about the one who pic whores his sexy ls, Pektel

Man. Yo lucky guys with the gray sealant. "Comes off like butter". I have the black one and took my fogs apart to paint last week, What a pain! took me an hour for each. Taking apart the headlights with black sealant would probably take like 3 hours for each plus some broken and bent parts on it.

Yea, I dont even have the paint yet, but I still feel like doing the ambers at least, once I sell my explorers, and replace the tranny, im gonna get the LSE style front bumper, with the 03+ headlights, and do halos in them and whatnot......ahhh the dreams :p

Yea, is he the one who every 4 posts posts the burgandy/deep red LS? Haha

Burgandy LS? If its the burgandy ls with the body kit and the non sport chrome bumper. That Rollinsls. Pektel has the white gen 1 ls. I always wonder how gen 2 ppl put halos on their headlights, I think all gen 2 have black sealant, then I found a thread where it had a company that did custom work on headlights. They color match them, replace that orange corner marker inside the headlight for a clear one, and put halos on them, the seal them back up and ship them to you. Just saying if you want do them in gen 2 headlights down the line

You know, thanks for reminding me, the glue slipped my mind, I might just make me a sick pair of 1st gens LOL.

My uncle (just sold his) had an 06' LS V8, and he did his own halos on his, and they looked great, he said it took him 2 straight days to install them (as in baking the headlights, opening them, wiring them up, gluing them back etc) but when he'd open the hood where you could see the headlight housing it looked like HELL lol

2 days wow. I bet the taking them apart was biggest chunk of the two days.I saw a write up from lsk on halos and it didn't seem that bad. Gen 1 headlights can come out loking really nice and clean with the right wrok done to them, or you could just whip out the extra bucks and send them to that headlight company.

Lol yea he said it took half the day to get them open without breaking or cracking them

You have to buy the 03+ header panel to install them. The header panel is the plastic piece the headlights bolt onto, and apparently they're different. I think you have to change the headlight plugs for the 03+ too. That is on my to do list as well, because I'm getting tired of the gap. I just don't have the money for the parts.

Do you have any pics of your headlights (So i can see what the gap really looks like?)

... Pektel has the white gen 2 ls. I always wonder how gen 2 ppl put halos on their headlights

pete has a 1st gen and i believe that its ivory.

2nd gen head lights have to be cut open with a dremil and epoxied back together
