remember that other countries care about fuel emission...doubt many V8s were sent to Japan![]()
Then why do 6 cylinder cars like the Skyline get held up at customs so they can make sure they pass strict US emissions standards? Why did Mazda tone down the tiny yet bad ass 1.3L rotary to meet US standards in the FD3's?
Japan has LOTS of v8's! They just use them differently then we do. They can fine tune a V6 and drop it in a smaller car to give it loads of power so they use V8s in big cars like Luxury cars where the power is needed most.
