SCP strut rod bushings.

So anyone use them before and have good results?I know, OEM and OEM only but damn, its gonna cost me like $300 to get the stock ones cause I need the sleeves.
SCP says how the Moog ones suck and we all know the Autozone ones are a joke but I would love some first hand experience info on the SCP versions.
Would be nice to spend under $100 instead of close to $300 but if nobody has had experience with the SCP versions then I will just spend the cash on OEM versions cause I sure as hell am not doing this a fourth time.

as long as the sleeves measure to 2 3/4" (measurement i found from doing searches before) there shouldnt be a problem. ive seen people on the tbird forums running the moogs and as long as you measure the sleeve before hand and cut to the right size it still works. still, oem sleeves are the way to go. My sleeves are something like 2 13/16 stock IIRC. if you just need the sleeves why dont you go pull them outta the junkyard? or ask someone that has a parts car?

oh and another thing, dont buy the kit that offers it at the lower, use ford for those...somethin like 20 bucks for all of the bushings or something, not 60+ like scp

The 93 rack is quicker ratio and half the price. I wouldnt car if it was the same price, I just want the quicker ratio.

like i said, as long as the sleeves are the right length then they should be fine, the problem with the moog and all the other aftermarket bushings was they had the incorrect sleeve length and got wasted way before they should have. a few guys run the moogs with no problems. i doubt you will find both sides with sleeves from the dealer for 200 bucks. if you want the sleeves and want to use oem use tbird sleeves, same crap, they have tons of those in junkyards.

Sorry,I wasnt clear. The Autozone pieced are thinner then the OEM versions. The OEMs are thicker walled making their OD larger then the aftermarket ones.
As for a JY, we dont have a single real JY in 50 miles in iny direction. Also I only have Sundays off so I just dont have the time to go and screw with it.
I guess I could ask Jamie if he has any but to make it worth his time to pull a set I think I would be paying close to new anyway.
I wont know for sure till I speak to Max tomorrow and get an exact price.
If its $300 or more then I will prolly just get the SCP ones and cut the sleeve down if its too long.

There is a lot more wrong with moog than just the sleeve.

THe oem design is actually sleeve in sleeve. Make sure you install them correctly when you get them.

OEM front strut rod bushing kit at the frame: $95.08 ea side from parts vendors.

Max should match it or be close to it.

I have been to a couple Ford parts places online that all seem to have the same menu system (like Tousley or Buy Ford) but have not found a bushing listing. I know I will order from Max but was curious as to the cost.

OK, Silverstate sells them for $89.27 per side so I am sure Max is the same or less. I can do that and will so screw the non-oem setups.

I want to love my car again before x-mas so after this stuff its getting the bumper and fender painted correctly and all the dings pulled out. After that its getting the trak loc, gears and 4" driveshaft slapped in and I am ordering a wood kit from that guy that makes those door pull wood covers. I am gonna cover my ash tray and cup holder base in the wood and the black parts around the stereo and rear defroster button. Not sure if I will use the parts for the window switches and inner door handles but they are part of his kit.
Then right before x-mas I will order my full exhaust and the rest of my braces.
If I am gonna spend 3 hours a day in it then I am gonna make it a nice 3 hours and really enjoy myself when I get to the back roads.
