Anybody know where I can get a can or bottle of 1996 model bright toreador red touch up paint???? Can't get it from Ford anymore. Or so I was told by a couple of dealerships. And can't get it from Advance, AutoZone, O'Reiley's, NAPA, CarQuest, etc. etc. It's not even in their books. I can get toreador red all day long, but my car is a shade or two brighter than std. toreador. I have a few little spots I need to touch up but I can't find my frakkin' color. Any help would be immensly appreciated.

Walmart? Paint code JB. Try one of the big auto parts chains. It probably wont touch up that good since its a Tri-Coat.

I am having the same issue trying to find the Evergreen (F8) touch up paint. Nobody seems to have it anymore. :(

how about a regular automotive paint supply shop???? i needed touchup for my 1975 grand prix....the mixed it right there for me...exact match

I've tried that. They say it's a tri-coat and they can't just mix one color for touchup purposes. And I would have to get base coat, top coat, and clear coat in order to get the correct color match.:(

The place out here can do mine just fine but I just wanted a $7 bottle of touch up. To have it made is $25 and times is tight. :(

I got some from the same place, found them on the web so I could shoot my front and back bumpers-toreador red, perfect match, got it fast too.

mercury toreador red is not the same as mark viii..I seen the toreador red on a marauder it's more like a burgundy...order with your paint code.

ive got 2 gallons of toreador red, not the "bright" tho it was for when i was gonna repaint my xploder

I'm going to Wal-Mart today. I did get a spray can of Ford Toreador red from Advance auto and it was much darker than the bright toreador on my Mark. So it wouldn't work. Maybe WallyWorld will have the right one. Advance, AutoZone, Pep Boys, O'Reiley's, NAPA, CarQuest, all the parts chains around here don't carry the Ford JB paint code. An neither does Ford. They can't get it anymore. So if WM doesn't have it, I'll just have to live with my chips and scrapes.

And my mom's '97 30th Anniversary Cougar has "dark" toreador red. Paint code JL. That's why it's so much darker than mine.

Bright toreador red was also a "new" color that was added to the Mark VIII color palette for the '96 model year.

Just found out that regular toreador red is paint code E9.

well it might seem darker, but after the top coat it might match. I know when ford gave me my touch up I got a white base coat, my pearl middle layer, and clear. Pearl looked way to dark on the car untill i went over it with clear, then it matched.

what do you mean spray can? You cant expect to touch up anything with a spray can and it look good.

:D Yeah. A spray can. I was trying to touch up some paint chips on the lower rocker panel between the front door edge and front fender toward the bottom. Not exactly a high visibility area. Either way, the toreador was much darker than my bright toreador.

The place here in town that says he will mix it for $25 said it will be a small spray can and a small nail polish size bottle. Guess I will get it.

well its not really that expensive, just today i bought a pint of paint code fz thats cordovan for only 26 dollars. Ofcourse it came out to about 60 bucks b/c i had to buy reducer, tape, and paint thinner to clean the spray gun.
