ok here is a question i wanted to ask. yes i searched first but no answer. I see a lot people are saying to get the focus fuel pump, but at the prices for that pump i could get a LMS pump from geno for a few bucks over a $100. and that is a high performance fuel pump. so is the focus pump that much better or what? i asked since i have just picked up a alt, waterpump, crank sensor, and now i wanna buy a fuel pump and if the lms is superior, then i wanna order one from geno so i can get these parts on this fall when i put "her" up for storage. also anything else i should replace for the heck of it? i just did the fuel filter also.

I cant speak about those two but I have heard good things about the Walbro 255lph from Summit.

I purchased the PUMP SCP has I was told that its the focus unit. That pump comes with the basket and sending unit all together. All I used was the pump itself and trashed the rest of it. LMS is selling only the pump and parts needed, so it will be less $$. As far as which is better both are 255 pumps plenty for our cars with mild mods.

Both pumps have the same flow ratings but the Focus is OEM and the other is not. Guys in the Stang world love to get the Focus pumps and I always wondered why since its the same as a BBK or Holley pump rated at 255lph.
I am curious about what the difference is under a higher pressure.
The SVT pump will do 255lph @ 40 psi but only 230lph @ 60 psi.
I dont know what the BBK will do.

EDIT: Looks like the aftermarket pumps can do 255 @ 48 psi but IDK what they drop to @ 60 psi

LMS doesn't sell fuel pumps anymore, which were just Walbro 255's anyway which you can get anywhere. Get an SVT Focus or Lincoln Aviator pump for your gen 2. They say the Focus pump flows 255lph but its more like 200lph in reality, it's good for about 400rwhp, maybe 425-450rwhp with a boost a pump. The Aviator is a 271 lph pump and can handle a lot more power but is more expensive... The Walbro pumps aren't a direct fit for the gen 2 either...

Focus pump is a lot better than you think. It holds up fine up to 425 rwhp alone, and 550rwhp with the boost a pump, verified on several mark viiis, including Charlie's KB car, and other Vortech cars. Proper injector size is also important, as well as full fuel supply to the pump, difficult to achieve in a 2nd gen basket equipped tank.

Did those cars have the pumps rewired to help get more juice to them?

Whats up with the baskets on the gen 2's. I cannt see that being a restriction, looked at mine several times. It has large cut outs on the basket I would think more than enough fuel can travel through. Where the sock goes the whole area is cut away. Whats the deal, enlighten me.

wow so a LMS pump is not an option anymore. So does any one here wanna post a link to where i can order svt focus or walbro pump. yes i'm being lazy tonight. lol

the holley 255lph pump assembly (i just sold) is a walbro pump and is rated to handle up to 800hp, as far as the performance of it i have none.. hence just selling the pump... but thats the info ive collected part #12-902

#12-902

* Flow rate: 255 lph (67 gph) * Supports up to 800 HP

* Includes all drop parts accessories and instructions * Also includes an inlet filter that meets or exceeds OEM specifications and provides improved filtration and durability

This high output electric fuel pump is designed to provide the additional fuel required when other engine modifications such as camshaft headers and larger injectors are installed. It is designed for easy installation and includes all parts.

i have a standard walbro(bbk) 255 in my second gen. you can buy just the pump from summit. It doesn't take much to modify the slosh bucket that they are talking about to make it work.

um, why are you running 60psi anyway?

I am not, was trying to show the quality difference in the pumps. A strong motor (pump) will be able to flow the same ammount to higher PSI.
IDK what mine runs. I have a 255 in there with the stock FPR.

well seeing how injectors are designed to operate at 43psi, there really is not reason to go higher.

that all depends on how far your going to modify your car later. Its cheaper to do it once and do it right if your going to go bigger later.
