I will be recieving a FREE set of Cobra wheels from my stepdad... He just ordered a new set of aftermarket rims for his Cobra so he decided to give me his. As all of us know, only one problem... DIFFERENT LUG PATERN! I went as far as editting one of my Mark VIII pictures & poping in a couple pictures of Cobra wheels. I LOVE IT!!!

  • Has anyone used adaptors on their Mark VIII's?

  • Adaptors bring out the rim a bit, has anyone experienced rubbing from adaptors?

  • What adaptors should I get?

Check out the picture below. It's a rough sketch but it gives me an idea of how it will look.

Unless you're going to go with a set of wheels off of an 05+ mustang, your offset is going to be way too far out with adapters.

You can buy Mustang wheels in our 4.25" bolt pattern.

Or you can just swap the hubs - do a search for 'hub swap'.

Why are you posting the same question several times?

Frogman, it's the first tim I post this, what are you talking about? I simply want to know if someone has done this in the past with these Mark VIII's

I'm a former Thuderbird owner, I know about the hub swap, just trying to save some money here, otherwise then I'll look for a site that sells the 4.25 bolt pattern & sell those Cobra rims.

Anyone know some good sites that sell the 4.25 Cobra wheels?

not THOSE wheels..
hubswap is gonna be your best bet
hubs are 60ish a piece.

Hubs can be re-drilled to a 4 ½” circle.
Some Don't like the idea.

I would do it all day long before I used Adaptors.
Hub swap is best.
Its been covered too many times.

Guys, can I truly say that I'm sad? lol.. nah, I had a feeling, just trying to find the quick way out. Wanted to slap on some rims ASAP. Alright, that's settled, adapters SUCK for Mark VIII's now, does anyone know of some good websites that sell 4.25 wheels? I've seen a couple websites but they only sell aftermarket random wheels or others that sell OEM Mark VIII wheels.

Either you're calling me senile or you're calling me a liar. Which is it?

Hub swap isn't all that expensive, and you're doing it right the first time, and not doing a Presidential Resolution job on them.

Yup. Clicky here. Good site to find lots of wheels.
