For starters... The reason for Gold Membership is to help finance hardware and software upgrades for the website. For example, I plan to buy a new server for the site later this year. That alone is going to cost around $4k. (on top of the monthly costs for bandwidth, etc which are about $1200 a year) - I also am going to do a major software upgrade and site redesign. (Another $500 or so) --- so you see, its expensive to have a successful site like this, and Gold memberships help offset those costs.

In exchange for the Gold memberships you get discounts at places such as strutmasters, 5 Star Ford, LincolnMotorsport and LS Koncepts. Many times, a single purchase from one of these can more then make up for your membership cost.

Also, as far as mods being lazy. I have no idea what you mean. Our mods are not suppose to be censors. We delete spam and talk to members who maybe are getting a little out of control, but we really try to NOT censor your posts, instead believing you should be more or less allowed free speech.

I saw this post and thought of helping you out. My company deals with used computer equipment (i.e. servers, switches,ect.).

If you want a server on the cheap, send me a PM with the specs you are looking for.
