My car up!:D I have the Eibach lowering spings and 18's with 245 45 R18's and am having trouble lifting my car up. I got some hub centric rings for my rims and was wanting to put them on but the jack my friend has (2 1/2 ton jack) won't get to frame under the car. Sure I have ramps but I hate bringing them out to just lift one side. What kinda jacks do you guys to lift your lowered LS's?
Part of me wants to put on the Sprint lowering springs but if I'm having this much trouble lifting my car with only a 1 inch drop, nevermind.
 
I use a standard scissor jack - lay it flat - and coming in to the jacking point from the wheel well, allowing the jack head to get by the underskirting. I jack it up enough to then slide my floor jack under and finish the job.
 
Damn it! I have mine in the trunk...

What do you think of the aftermarket electric scissor jacks?
 
never used one. I have a 'flat tire' jack - with a low saddle to get in under a low car - but my LS is even too low for it - hence the double jack method.

you can jack up the front using the suspension mounting points -there's a cross brace that is a alternate jack point - if it's easier to get in from there. You can probably get the car high enough on one side that the jack will fit in under both the front and rear side skirts.
 
Yeah, I have problems finding a place under the car to lift it from using the sissor jack.
 
Mine is too low to get the arms under the lift points when putting it up on the lift. it's a 2 person jobnow. I pick up at the wheel well, to lift it up enough to get the arm underneath. Otherwise, just lay a chunk of 2x4 on the floor, and drive up onto it. Should lift it enough.
 
And as far as your thread title, maybe try changing hands? Or get a girl to do it for you. I suggest the latter :D

Ha Ha, I couldn't help myself when I wanted to make this thread and it needed a title that caught the eye!
 
The fastest way I get lowered cars on jack is just cut up 1.5 foot peices of 2x4 or something like that. Put one in front of each tire and drive on. Gives you the room to fit scizzor jack when car super low.
 
Buy a low profile hydraulic jack. They are available with as little as a couple inches clearance. Costco had an aluminum one for ~$100.

I have a pair of 2x10s cut to about 4' long, with 10" 2x4 across one end, and another section of 2x10 about 14" long on the opposite end. They are made for my ramps to set in between the 14" 2x10 and the 2x4. I drive up on the end of the 4' 2x10, up onto the second 2x10, and then onto the ramp. The 2x4 on the other end is to prevent the ramps from slipping and keeps the car from pushing them. When I'm out to put a jack to it, I just drive it up on the boards minus the ramps.

It was originally my solution to keep from ripping the wife's front bumper off trying to get her car on the ramps for oil changes. Since getting the LS they've came in handy as well.
 
I built some wooden ramps to take to the mechanics for service work. I used 3 pieces of wood 1x6 fence board, cut first piece to the length of 6 inches, 2nd to 10 inches, 3rd to 14 inches. I then butted one side of the together and nailed them together, had some ramps made that were easy to ride up on and can get a floor jack under and made it easy to get on the hoist also. Cost about $12.00.

I'm not a big guy, and my LS isn't lowered any, but I don't see the thickness of three 1x6 boards being enough room for me to work on much.
