Shame I just bought my old man a car with the money I coulda bought this for. Never fails that every time I come into some dough, it goes elsewhere.

Just need to do different coldside piping to fit a gen 1 I believe.

A 1989 Yamaha XS1100 Midnight Special? I dont ride it much anymore but just had the carbs rebuilt..

correct - the Gen1 intake is in a different place, however - in addidtion you may need to work though the PCV and IAT setups and the air-assisted injectors that are unique to the Gen1....

I just posted an ad on another forum trying to sell off sh!t from my Trans Am

 Selling parts from an 11sec Trans Am for a currently low 14's Ls.. Priceless

How "different" is different?

Can you expand on this a little bit? This is a killer deal, but I want to get all my ducks in a row first before I commit to anything.

This is for us more educated enthusiasts, stand down young sir.. I plan on purchasing within the month.. Strapp Im serious.. Im parting out my Trans Am as the days go by..

not a deal killer - just something to be aware of and need to work through. The toughest issue you will face is dealing with the air-assisted injectors.

- either block off the air-assist feature or work with the air rail?
- find suitable upgraded injectors (flow rate) that are either air-assisted or can fit (and seal properly) in the manifold?
- properly deal with the vacuum routing. PCV, IAC, brake booster, EVAP, ...etc
- the air-rail is feed through the IAC valve off the intake tube - so by boosting the entire intake tube you need to work through what issues that causes.

Quik, I know your LS is boosted . . . what did you do to deal with the air-assist injectors in your setup?

since I am running a SC - the boost happens after the throttle body - so I'm not boosting the intake track like the turbo, which eliminates some of these issues - causes others. Now I still would have the issue with the injectors - but the SC uses a custom built intake manifold (that also acts as the mounting for the SC) and we used standard injector bungs. So I run the standard 39lbs injectors (Ford racing blue used in the cobras).

Interesting information, thank you . . . I'm gonna shoot a PM over to ILLS too since I know he is the one who put this kit together.
