Quick question about the cooling lines that run through the throttle body. For the guys with CAI systems, are you bypassing the cooling lines that run through the throttle body, or do you leave it stock? My thought is the added heat to the throttle body has to have a negative impact on the air/fuel mixture and it makes sense just to bypass the cooling lines. any thoughts?

I left mine. I removed them on my 87 LSC just because..to make it less messy under the hood. The coolant flows through there so that the throttle body blade doesn't freeze in the winter time. I'd just leave it.

I remove mine, it's a pain to mess with everytime I pull the intake manifold, injectors, plugs, ....etc - but since I live in texas, icing in the intake is never going to happen.

I took mine out because the throttle body I put on didn't have one, -old mustang 5.0 trick too.
Eliminate the short line, and re-route the line from under the intake to the nipple on the plastic coolant contraption.

So you have a 5.0 mustang throttle body on your car? If so which one and what mod needs to be done to fit?

It's an '06 F150 throttle body housing, 75mm :D with the LS external parts bolted back on. Problem is the stepper motor is not offset like the stock LS's so you have to modify the housing, and motor cover so it clears the valve cover.

I don't have numbers before, and after but, definete improvement in throttle response, and at WOT. I haven't mentioned anything about it because I need to see if its going to work.
Were having a rash of problems with them on expeditions.

The bottom TB is stock LS, the top is the new one. The stepper motor cover, and housing is shaved on 1 bolt ear to clear the LH valve cover when bolted to the intake [This is a GEN 2 car, now GEN 1 might be different]

Great info so far, I know ppl in the hi-perf section were talking about a mustang tb swap too. And I have to say I love the dig. "Bubb rubb - whistle fan"

The TB looks like its touching the valve cover but there's a c hair of space between them.

I sent ya an e-mail, both those listings are gone. You have any buddys at a Ford dealer, there going through these right now like candy on F150's, and Expeditions. Mine might be off an Expedition now that I'm thinking about it.

Yeah that video is a F'n riot! The best part is when he rolls up the street and almost side swipes the parked cars, then blows the stop sign with a car pulling up!
