Hey guys, took the time to make a decent thread in case anyone ever searches for an LED/Stock comparison. Also I got my car tinted this morning. Let me know what you think about these mods.

Finally got some pics from my lights/LED Swap. USPS Lost my package and it took nearly 3 weeks to get them. Finally put them in today. Also I took before and afters because when I was planning to do this mod I looked for some, but could not find any. My camera isn't very special so the quality isn't too good, but I did my best to show the stock lights versus the LED lights. Let me point out though, the camera had a hard time picking up the LEDs, in every single case of comparison in-person, the LEDs win no question.

Installation: Not going to lie, the front dome LED swap was the most annoying/difficult - You do NOT need to take down the headliner. However, you do need to take out the two middle screws that hold up the visors. This will allow you enough room to work in while the whole assembly dangles. Also the LEDs for the license plate did not fit in the stock assembly once put back together, you kinda just got to put them in there best you can and then remount the assembly, the LEDs stay in place because there is not much room for the light to move - so it works out good anyways.

Here's the LED part list that you can order through V-LEDs. However, their customer service was not too good to me. I got the list from a past thread about puddle lights, the guy with the red Gen2 put it together.

(2) WHITE MSMT 6 LED DOME LIGHT 3022 3021 DE3175 6428 6430 Puddles
(1) 2 HID WHITE 6 LED LIGHT BULBS 194 158 168 LARGE License Plate
(4) 2 HID 5K WHITE SMT 5 LED LIGHT BULBS 194 168 158 2821 Everything Inside (including glovebox)

Thanks for looking.

What did ya use to seal the puddle lights back together? I have the bulbs here and that's the last of the LEDs that I wanna do on the car..just haven't had the time.

Looks good

I'm very impressed with the license plate lights and the puddle lights! The mods look great! Do you have any photos of the pre/post from inside the car?

Smoking car man!

NYC LS8, I opened them first by taking off the lens (easy if you have patience). I then resealed with a light layer of epoxy, they hold extremely well and I let them set under my tool box. I pulled fairly hard when dry to see the durability of the seam, and it is definitely stronger than stock lol. I dunno if it was weathering and wear or what, but the lenses on my puddle light assemblies was basically un-attatched, couple firm pulls and they were off.

n8bachelor, those shots are with the doors open, not through windows, so that is kinda what they look like from inside too. The big difference with the LEDs obviously is the whiteness compared to the stock yellow. Before with lights my interior looked yellow, now it looks like the colors it actually is. I am very impressed with the License and Puddles too. The puddles went from a single yellow bulb to a bar of 6 LEDs, when I got them I was sure the light output would be less with how small the LEDs actually are; however they turned out great!

Kd00ls, Yea I know man, its horrible they r everywhere. Everyone comments how clean and how nice the paint is, I always tell them just wait till I polish it... lol

Thanks guys

Got anymore information you can share on the puddle lights? How did you open the housing itself, from what I understand it is glued together and I thought maybe only a dremill could get them open.

I'd like to do those lights and the license plate eventually.

car looks great, i wanted to do 5% but didnt because i couldnt see crap at night in a previous car with 5% and didnt want to risk anything with the new baby in there so i went with 20% . nice work with the lights too. i really like the license plate bulbs

You can get them off with a screw driver and razor blade. When I removed mine from the mirrors, they were so weathered that the lens-to-cup seal was easily breakable. I ran along the edge with a razor blade and pulled on the lip as I went around a few times until eventually it just broke loose. A clean edge all the way around. On one of them, it was attached better, so I used a flat head screwdrivers to ease the lens off while doing the razor blade also.

And keep in mind I am doing this over and over again, its not a 30 second job where you rip the lense off and ur done, you have to work it off as to get a nice clean edge to reseal it with.

Once the lense is off, you have to modify the little tabs that hold the lights by simply pinching them with any pliers (pinch from the inside of tab to the cup wall)

Doing this will allow the new LED bar (which is slighty wider) slip into the stock tabs more easily.

After this, make sure the LED bar is secure and seal them up!

It looks harder than it is. If you have zero patience, I would say stay away from the puddle lights.

EDIT: Added LED invoice Part #s

Man I love your car, I almost ended up with that exact same car but it was being sold as I was asking about it... ended up with the plain jane silver. LED's make it a lot more 'fresh' too, looks good.

Is there any constant, "headlights-on" power in the overhead console?

Oh and VERY nice!

How many LEDs did you go with for each light?

Each 'bulb' comes with LEDs in it, if you look @ the LED Parts List it will tell you the actual # of LEDs with each bulb.

What do you mean headlights constant power?

Yes I tinted the back windshield, why?

Yea LsUnV2 I think you're the one I got the info from, thanks man.

But I got compliments on the LEDs tonight, first off someone was telling me how cool it was that the car even has puddle lights, and then he was commenting on how nice the LEDs inside look. He said it looks very 'baller' lol.

But yea I <3 the puddle lights, great idea

I know they come with LED's built in but different people sell ones with more led's for the same application. I'm going to go all LED but I want to go with as many LED's as possible but still have the lights fit correctly.

Oh, yea I dunno I didn't really look around much besides ebay, and it seemed everything was similiar when searching the actual LED part #s.

I think I remeber someone mentioning that found bulbs that fit the puddle lights with 12 LEDs instead of 6, I don't really see how thats possible unless its the same 6 Led bulb, only with LEDs on both sides. Which would send some LEDs pointing up into the cup of the puddle light assembly which would hit the reflectin surface, but I don't se it making too 'that' great of an impact, may be worth the search though.

Anyways I dunno if you can fit many more LEDs into some of the bulbs, I mean everything was a pretty close fit, like I said earlier the License Plate lights didn't even fit the housings correctly.

But yea trust me dude, the ones I got destroy the stock lighting hands down, the pics don't do the LEDs justice for some reason. I can see anything and everything, and it looks badass when I unlock the doors and everything lights up all super white.

The bolded numbers are the # of actual LEDs placed onto each bulb, so all exteriors have 6, all interior have 5
