5.4s are not expensive at all. Just find a wrecked navigator... That's all that motor is...

i think it might the 4V 5.4 is only 2.5in wider then the 4.6 i THINK i am not positive. i saw a pic of an ls on this site i think that had been striped and turned onto a race car. anyway they got a mark engine in there but they had to cut into the wheel wheel but they got it to work. still the 5.4 swap for me is just hopes a dreams and not in the near future so if i even ever get around to do it then i will look more into it.
 
Why bother? Your Teksid block 4.6 is less tall, lighter and stronger than the 5.4. Better to build what you have, imo. Also, those 5.4's apparently suffer from thrust face bore wear at higher mileages.

Be a good engine for lower RPM torque and streetable power, but other than that, I see no benefit.
 
The 5.4 would be a hella tight fit if it fit at all, i cant even imagine all the fitment problems you would run into getting it in.
And i have heard something about the rod/stroke ratio being horrible on the 5.4's and causing egg shaped cylenders too.

Teksid FTW on this one. Though a forged GT500 longblock would be nice or if you found a Cobra R longblock it would be amazing. But if you are a Gen II owner, there is no f'n way your hood would even think about closing.
 
There is like 1.25" between the valve covers and the unibody on a Mark... so at even 2.5" wider it isn't really going to fit....
 
1.25 + 1.25 = 2.5 still like i said i am not planing on doing it any time soon if ever. i am just saying my dream mark would be a 5.4 32V TT with a t56:)
 
I don't know how I would feel about my motor touching the unibody structure all the time lols... I'd love to see it done though, it would be very interesting.
