i've was talking to the body guy today about doing some touch up work/ rust repair. he got under the car and noticed a rust hole on the bottom of the rocker panel about two inches long. i pulled out a nice pile of rust. is there a way to replace the rocker panels and do any repairs to the quarter panels(if needed)
also is there a paint that is similar to the ford pearl tri-coat white for cheaper

Rust repair in those areas is very straight forward from the metal stand point...

Tri coat paint is big $$... sorry.

bi coat otherwise known as candy apple, when done properly is not gay.

what, the idea or cost of three seperate paint jobs isn't appealing to you?

It not that big of a deal. And its really not that much more $ either. Tri-coats (also candys, not necessairly always pearls) are done daily at a decent body shop, and if you have a tri-coat paint job then you really have no other way to do it, unless you want it to look like crap. My car is a factory tri-coat, and painting the cowl hood wasnt that big of an issue. I didnt even blend the fenders and the color match is fantastic.

tri- coat's a little out of style, looked classy for the late '90's, but it's gone. Plus the maintenance sucks, because if your paint's more than 2 years old and you actually drive the car, get a door ding, and want it fixed, you better paint the whole car or it won't match. I say go with a new color, or just white.

I just got into this with some Rauder boys.... they seem to think changing the color of a collector car is terrible... lol

I'd do it if I had the money to do it RIGHT....
