So my collectors edition radio surround has an issue, no chips, it has a crack running all the way across it. Not in the wood, but just in the lacquer... WTF

So now for the real question, do I have big enough balls to sand and relacquer this thing??

I don't even have a clue where to start....

KK, 4 ideas...post in the forum for audio and electronics.....ask Jamie....or a guy named ground_zero298 posted yesterday in response to a question by Chadly.....he seemed real smart in the stereo area....finally, maybe you could order the part from one of those interior wood dash type companies...

CE hmmmm well put something different on it and it will really be a Rare CE when you post it on eBay or Craigs list.

Come on KK go for it... fix it yourself trust your special skills.

The CE wood is a different color and is heavily laquered and has a high gloss to it.

yeah that wood is listed as different part numbers than standard 97-98 wood. it is glossier, you can try sanding it and relaquer it, i doubt you'll find one from a C.E and if you want it to match it will HAVE to be, or live with it!!

Go Fast had one... I had no more $$'s.... I'm just afraid to try anything as if I were to screw it up....

What about a furniture refinisher/antique guy maybe ? They fix/blend stuff all the time. Worth a lot more than our cars probably.....

I say we pull all of your trim and kit it out in suede that is a complimentary color to your leather!
