Trunk Lid Dimensions

Question. If you are picking up a new trunk lid specifically one for your LS why do you need the dimensions?

Because the LS is being serviced (FEM issues) at a dealership in another town about ~70 miles away (the local one embodies the very definition of stealership :P ).

A yard at another nearby town has a trunk lid in excellent condition for cheap ($130) and I'd like to pick that up while waiting for the LS to be finished.

Cause HeBeDaPlaya, that's why! Why do a tail light swap when you can do a trunk swap! :D

Heh, not quite :P Some a-hole dinged the trunk lid - I should never have parked the LS in a student apartment loading zone :|

There is no reason why another LS trunk lid would be of different dimensions within the same generation.

Hope that helps!

That's a given. But what I was more concerned with is how to transport the thing.

Should have elaborated. Tie it to a roof. Unless you know someone with a pick up thats about it.

Sorry about that, will try to be clearer next time. Looks like it's time to buy a friend with a pickup a beer then :D

Easy... take off your old trunk lid before you drive over to pick up the new one :D

so i don't have to start my own thread, when i hit the trunk button on my remote, all i hear is the latch release the trunk lid. then you can open it. every other car i owned, the trunk would open like 2-3 inches. this just sits there and looks at you...

Mine does the same thing, usually. Sometimes it'll at least flinch a little bit, so you know it's open. It probably has to do with the weight of the trunk and the style of latch.

Theirs some rubber around the latch on the bumper part that gets the lid hung up.

Depends on how much its been used. Mileage dont count for everything.

Might just need a bit of grease.

Mine pops up unless it is under a pile of snow. But, I don't think I would care if it didn't. Unless my kids started hitting the button without me knowing about it. It could get annoying having to stop on the side of the road every morning to shut the trunk.

It's about three 'sleeping' co-eds deep - two if they are kicking and screaming.

i know when he plays with the remote. some might say its my fault for showing him that holding the unlock key opens all the windows. it'd be fine if it was may. not so much in feb.
