Thinking of the New Genisis Coupe

I'll laugh when China's version of Hyundai comes over seas...it'll be funny......probably comes with free fireworks :P

Still I'd much prefer a Euro or American car.....

MKZ is a updated Zephyr.

I get that, but the things I was trying to point out is that the MK in the name is simply a nod to the history of the MarK name. Nothing to do with the actual cars, just a name.

As for what is based on what a little research shows that the new Taurus is built on the Ford D3 platform which was originally the Volvo P2 platform (Volvo S80). They Zephyr, Edge, and Fusion all share the CD3 platform which comes from the Mazda 6.

If anyone feels like putting this information into the Taurus thread also they can go ahead. I'm too lazy.

Wow, how many other Lincolns are based on a Ford owned Import?

Which is what the Milan and Fusion were too. I hate to point out that PeteSweets was right :(

To be technical, I can find a way to say he is wrong:D

If those cars were based on the Mazda 6 than the MKZ was not based on those cars, all those cars were based on the Mazda 6.

Oh and Petesweets, if you wanna claim that there are some tiny aspects taken from a Taurus and that alone makes the car crap, do you know how much stuff in the LS is similar to the Taurus?

The Zephyrz/MKZ/Milan/Fusion were always the same car with different trim and body styling. The Zephyr to MKZ change was the name + next years revisions/improvements added.

The V6 engine came from the Taurus...as far as overrall there's not too much. And it's not that I hate Taurus...but back when my parents gave me a '98 Taurus V6 to use for High School and college....I got nothing but "Granny Car" remarks with it...though it was VERY reliable til it needed a new engine. I survived 4 rear ending accidents with it...even being at a stop light and one of the kids from my high school obliterated the entire back of my car by driving his mom's GMC Yukon at 35mpg and not looking......

And it's not the fact if I'm right or not...I just researched the MKZ alot when I was originally looking at buying a car back in 2007........MKZ does look nice in black or silver...but the interior has much more of a plastic look than the LS.....LS hides it's plactic parts quite well

You guys are missing the most important point. Which is that I am right. I don't care if anyone else is right or wrong. Just so long as everyone realizes that I am right.

Yes it looks like a Hyundai cause thats what it is but it also looks like a Tiburon cause thats all it is. Just cause they changed a few things dont mean much. Think of the RX-7. It took on some serious changes over the almost 2 decades that it was out but it was still a RX-7. Same goes with lots of cars. It really does look just like how I would imagine a new Generation Tiburon. But all this really is juts my opinion I guess:shifty: :D

Its a completely different car. The only similarities is that its a coupe. I guess every automakers cars are all just the same to you if thats your logic. Yea, the RX-7 had changes, so did the Mustang, hell the Mark series changed, but they were all the same line, same architecture of car. Just evolution of the line. This is a completely different layout, a completely different car.

No, thats not my logic. My logic is if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck its a duck. That is a Tiburon., in my opinion. It looks a lot like one. The difference between Hyundai and other manufacturer's are the others obviously have the balls to try to keep the same name and attempt to put more life in the car or keep it alive.

That is exactly what these car companies like you to think, that its not just the same POS as it was yesterday.

RX-8 compared to the Rx-7 sucks to drive. Especially when considering it to the FD3 RX-7's.:)

Sorry for the off topic rant.:D

I haven't been in an RX-7 so I wouldn't know just how much better but mazda made some pretty great cars in the 90s like the MX-6 once you slap on a full body kit...those things look pretty sweet when done up....

:bowrofl:

Thats such a sh*tty car. Its a f*cking Probe!

I'd really disagree there. I checked them out after I totaled the first LS and I thought the interior was much much cooler and the materials much nicer than the LS. I don't mind at all though, the LS interior was created in the late 90s, and now it's almost 2010. There's been a lot of focus the last few years from the American auto guys to class up their interiors, and they are doing bang-up jobs imo. It just wasn't like that when the LS was created.

maybe you're right..only car I've driven in in the past year is the new Audis....and those are alot more leather.....
