Thinking of the New Genisis Coupe

I went to that link, and all I saw was Danica Patrick spread out on another car....I have never seen her without a racing suit on, but always figured she was hot...guess I was right!

Been looking and speaking to a dealer here about possibly getting one but am not sure quite yet.

The picture a few posts up of the Genesis makes the car look like it's got bad gas...the squinting eyes and the grinding teeth..... :/

You guys are funny. If that car had a German badge on the front of it you'd be drooling on it. Everyone complains that there's no RWD perfomance car options anymore. Then when one comes out it's dismissed before it's even been driven!

As for Korean cars, my parents bought a Kia back in 2001 much to my dismay. 180,000 miles later and they've replaced an alternator, tires, brakes and that's about it. It's been a rock solid car for them. I still don't want to drive it or own it, but you can't say it's not reliable.

All that being said, I still couln't bring myself to buy a $45,xxx Hyundia. They should have come out with a premium division like Toyota did with Lexus. Volkswagon tried to go down this road and ultimatley failed. But hey, good luck!

To be honest-me myself-I wouldn't be drooling. If it was say a BMW but was a crappy BMW and they just changed the name to sound more interesting I would feel the same. Or, if it was a crappy German brand car.... same deal.

That dont change my perspective. You can look at Hyundai and just say cheap car no matter how they spice it up.

Do you also think they should have kept the name LS for the new MKS? It only is a different platform, bigger vehicle, changed drivetrain, more luxury, higher price, FI engine option, no more than the changes from Tiburon to Genesis...

No I dont cause I do not see anything including body style in the MKS at all taken from the LS. I do see Zephyr and MKZ in the MKS;) but no LS what so ever. Wayyyyy different. And from what I gathered its been said here a million times over it is not meant to be a replacement or to be compared in anyway. Its plain and clear that Hyundai is a Tiburon.

Even if its not just a updated Tiburon ( which it is ), its still just a Hyundai

No way, cuz the MKS replaced the Towncar! The LS replaced the Mark. I think they should have stuck with the Mark name instead of LS anyway. I hope they go back to that name.

If the LS replaced the Mark that is a huge upset!

The MKS is a Luxury Taurus you numb nut!

Considering a newer "Luxury" Taurus is in the making I feel you are the " numb-nut".

So you dissagree that underneath the MKS skin is not a Taurus...maybe you should look it up...sure it's a Towncar replacement...but everything about it's genetics is actually a Taurus and a Mercury Sable........

"The 2009 Lincoln MKS is the new flagship sedan from Ford's luxury division. This premium large car shares some of its basic design with the Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable." http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2009-lincoln-mks.htm

I thought the MKS was build on a Volvo platform. As for Lincoln naming I thought the MK was supposed to be an homage to the MarK.

Not at all cause they also have the MKX.which is one of those mini suvs.

I dont think the Zephyr which started the whole MKZ and MKS thing was meant to honestly follow anything, maybe a TC.

MKZ is just a updated Mercury Milan and a Ford Fusion, as for the MKX thats' an easy one...the Ford Edge....wish that if Ford was doing this FORD, MERCURY, LINCOLN "upgrade" of vehicles...wish they'd do it with the Mustang and make a MKM or a MKR that is a luxury mustang.....with better rear suspension :P......might be able to compete with the other 2dr luxury coupes.....

Na they just changed the Zephyr name to MKZ since the old Zephyr has no relarion with the new MKZ-Zephyr car.....though I liked the name Zephyr alot better....

Lincoln introduced its smallest car ever for 2006, borrowing its name from a Lincoln model of the 1930s. Equipped with a V12 engine, that early-day Zephyr had given Lincoln--then known mainly for costly luxury motorcars--a first-time presence in the family-sedan market. Younger buyers were the target audience for the revived Zephyr. Sized and priced below Lincoln's rear-wheel-drive LS (which soon would expire), the "entry-level" 2006 Zephyr was essentially a luxury-equipped version of the new front-drive Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan midsize sedans. All three shared their basic architecture with the Mazda 6 from Ford's Japanese affiliate, but the Zephyr weighed about 300 pounds more than a Fusion or Milan. http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2006-to-2008-lincoln-zephyr.htm

pricing for U.S. released today.

2.0T Track sounds pretty nice.

This is not a tiburon, there are plans to produce a fwd coupe that would be more of a continuation of the tiburon. And it looks like a hyundai because thats what it is lol.

Yes it looks like a Hyundai cause thats what it is but it also looks like a Tiburon cause thats all it is. Just cause they changed a few things dont mean much. Think of the RX-7. It took on some serious changes over the almost 2 decades that it was out but it was still a RX-7. Same goes with lots of cars. It really does look just like how I would imagine a new Generation Tiburon. But all this really is juts my opinion I guess:shifty: :D

I was into hyundia genesis couprs probably 4 months ago. Read an article in motortrend about the release. 20hp less then a G37 in the v6 model sounded damn nice. RWD and a 6 speed manual sounds even better. im sure it gets decent MPG too. they are nice cars, id love to own one but i just cant really justify owning a hyundia sports car. its almost a bigger oxymoron then a lincoln LS
