tryin to grasp the basics

the radio is bigger & divided from the HVAC. There's a wood wraparound that covers the ashtray up to the top of the radio. There's also a nice lincoln emblem set in the wood that holds, or hides the cabin thermostat.

I'm pretty sure it started in 95, also a good year, better HVAC buttons(the 93 & I think 94's wear out until all you see is the light from behind the buttons) I think the better ttranny pans are on these too.(93's sometimes slip out of gear when turning because the pickup tube loses contact with the fluid.) an indention in the pan & longer tube solved that.

I found a real nice looking 93, but needs a trans...man, why do they need what i dont have?

Ive also heard the 97-98 mark transmissions were the best of the bunch?

This is what a 96' radio section looks like and the reason I like the later model Marks...Double Din.

I didn't think that a double din would fit in there due to the slanted shape of the fact. radio. Did something have to be moved? I've had a brand new Clarion DD in my garage for 2 years now ,& it will fit in either one of my Marks?!:Bang

anything will fit!

only question is, how big is your hammer?

would a 3.8 mustangs auto fit a mark? I know a few of those being parted out...

Yeah I had to cut the plastic behind the wood trim. You can barley see the 2 cut in the upper corners. I then had to trim the plastic up to the soft cover that raps over the plastic. On the bottom part where you see the 2 5/32 bolts, I took them out along with the steel piece the stock radio's plastic piece slides onto. Then I cut the plastic on the bottom to match the temp control height. I didn't take a pic of the cage when I put it in cause I was in to much of a hurry to get it done so I could listen to it :p

So you can see how big the radio is and it fits back in that dash

And I still ain't done as I have to put my Sirius brain behind it when I get it...

damn.

so i need one from a 4.6? whats that leave...MN12's, mustang GT's, crown vics/gran maquis?

rumored the vics have a longer tailshaft, so a custom ds would be needed, mustangs fit some years require a re pin

hmm...allright.

so how do you like yours? a little personal review, if you can:)

love it! 162k (~ish) only had to replace the compressor (added another just for fun) and the rf bag, besides the small oil leak here and there great car

That deep jewel green may be an ok deal if you can get it for less and don't mind (possibly) replacing the transmission.

yeah, hard part is finding one. Id offer him 500 for that..

theres also this one http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/1002584184.html , but that 2 tires are worn makes me wonder how it was treated. plus, they were red sox fans

Car is way to comfortable!
Got my WRX back and it feels like what it is, a damn compact car

thats what i want- something comfortable to cruise for 160 miles home. mustang has no lumbar support.
