For some time my drivers seat would not go up/down or forward/back. Motors are bad right ? A " friend " put grill lights in for me while I was gone. This was before I put in new lights and HIDs. The switch was on the side of the console. So today after futile attempts at finding a seat track assembly, I took the drivers seat apart from the floor. Underneath I found he had spliced into the seats myriad of computer wires.....and left one harness connection undone. Since I almost always leave the seat in the same position, thought motors were burned up. I reconnected the harness. Power seat again. Cheap, really delayed fix. Live and learn.

That and be there too. Kind of like watching Lincoln techs if car must go to them.

I watch everbody who works on my vehicles. Almost a perverse thrill watching someone else bust thier knuckles and bleed on my girls, other than me. Sitting there, off to the side, bird-dogging thier every move. Enjoying a snack and a coffee in the lounge area.

"...Hey! Wash yer hands before you touch that car!.."

gary i got your message on my phone, then i listened to your second one and laugh pretty good when you said it was just unplugged, all this time too!!!

hey at least you didnt waste money on a track!

Because its hard to find anyone you can trust to do a good job... and most techs don't seem to give a :q:q:q:q about the cars they work on.

True that. All the techs I work with seems to care how they do their jobs. But when I first started I had a tech do the headlight switch recall and the cc recall.. I was pissed afterward because he left the wire that he stripped on my carpet... It wasn't too bad but im extremely meticulous when I work on anybody's vehicle.

Well see how meticulous you are in 10 years.....

Well. id like to keep my job... So it will most likely stay that way. I clean every car I do any interior work on such as pulling dash for heater cores, blend doors etc.. and still make time with time left to spare.

Actually, as far as Lincoln techs, the worst that comes to mind is them forgetting to turn the switch off when I had air bags. Financially they wanted to charge me to recode my 2nd remote. They did not charge me for the first. I used a paperclip after I read how to do it. In their defense, they are there to make money. My dealer is really pretty good, like the recall for cruise control. They are high priced though. Jamie, someday I will eventually need a seat track so don't forget me. lol.
