I dont want to turn this into an "LS" sux thread. But. They suck. My friend had his at the garage ALL the time. They are BMW 300 series wannabe's and we all know the 300 series SUX.

There is a reason Ford only made then a few years.

i woke up with a hard on so big this morning, i didnt have enough skin left to blink my eyes.

What's a 300 Series? Is it anything like the Chrysler 300? Or closer to a BMW 3 Series?

Of course, 3 Series can't suck because they are one of Europe's top selling vehicles :)

But I would be more inclined to say the LS was targeted at the 5 Series, as they are dimensionally closer and there is no coupe version for either vehicle.

Dude. You cant say theyre good cars. If you never drive them they are... :D Truuust me. I work on them day in and day out. The ONLY thing I like about them is the smooth accel... Nothing else.

I can say mine is. Gets driven 40 miles in stop and go traffic to and from work every day over some of the worst roads known to man and not one peep out of it. Yes, it's had it's coil and leaky valve cover troubles, but it was taken care of free of charge by Ford. My Mark VIII was a great car, too. When I wasn't driving it. Hence the reason I gave it away and bought another Mark VII as a daily.

But look who I'm talking to here - a kid who in 3 weeks is going to turn around and post another epic thread about how he hates his Mark VIII. Good thing for you have a job to keep up with all the sh*t that goes wrong on them and believe me, I've replaced the majority of the known issues on my old Mark VIII.

You should turn it into a "my friend's LS sux" thread, because his obviously does. Maybe school him on how to fix the stuff that does break, because it's certainly not rocket science. Or have him read the LS section. Anything and everything he could ever need is there.

But that's your opinion and that's fine. Kinda of like 225s on an 8" wide wheel sucks.

There is a reason Ford only made then a few years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Mark VIII lasted about as long as the LS did.

Right, because a guy that runs two health care centers and has a half million dollar home is going to fix a new car that keeps breaking. And he was schooled, he never bought a Lincoln again after owning them his entire life. He bought a Kia - ya, sad.

No, its everyones opinion except yours. Keep in mind this is a "Mark VIII" forum right here. No room for trolls. LOL

Wrong. The LS model years range from 2000 to 2006, 6 years. That was the start and end of the LS.

The "Mark" series was around before 69 but with the "new" Mark III in 69 introduced the "Mark" was around until 98 model year.

I will let you do the math :)

lol now now guys, some guys like 2 doors some like 4.... if the ls had 2 doors I would own one... that tiny little v8 needs some more mods available too

My VIII constantly broke in the short time I trusted it for th DD. I drove it a pathetic 21k before I bought something else to drive daily.

My LS has been great and I would say the best car I've owned. Normal maintenance in 64k, no surprizes unless you count having to clean crap out of the radiator.

Unless you own both I fail to see how you can really argue.

I can argue. I work on them. The v8's arent too bad though I will say. I've seen more driveability issues out of the sixes than anything. The obvious coils and such.

The only problems(which I dont consider problems at all) is air suspension stuff. So Ive replaced the front struts twice and gone through 3 compressors and one solenoid. Oh and the leaky oil pan.

I had a 96base for seven months before a semi took my out on the hihway...then I got the LSC.

First one with 60k. Trans shuttered, front end was falling apart. Second one with 67k lots of little crap broke and then of course it spit the plug.

You shouldn't have bought poorly maintained vehicles...

so your saying your name should be 02LSE96BASE96LSC91SE84TC04150-98NT150andalltheother$hityougot lol :D dont worry no :ninja:s here

I bought my LS with 32k. Oil changes and mods aside.

I did front breaks around 64k
Rear brakes around 79k
Changed the plugs and cleaned the spark plug wells out around 85k. Not because of a miss just wanted too.
Cleaned the radiator out around 92k

My steering wheel radio controls act weird in hot weather.

Thats it

I beat it pretty good.

At 94k I'm very happy and can't imagine it not being considered a very dependable car.

every car breaks, the car you did own broke, but if you owned a different car the time you owned a mark VIII, it would have broke too, its a machine, machines break, you know what doesnt break, dirt everything else breaks, i have owned 5 mark VIII's, this is what broke through all of them, one windshield, because of me, one of them had an IAC go bad, one of them needed a transmission at 175,000, i changed it and went to 195,000 before i bought my 98. 5 mark VIII's and thats all that broke, so i'll say mark VIII's dont suck, but thats because i never had problems, i have owned many cars in the last 16 years with many problems on all of them, and i have owned chrysler cars, gmc, chevy, ford, lincoln, mercury all cars suck if you want to get technical.
