1. What is the horse power of the motor in a gen 1 stock
2. What kind of transmission is in it
3. Is it a 8 or 9" rear end
4. What are the ring gears
 
1. The motor is rated at 280hp for base and 290hp for the LSC models... I would doubt that you will notice any of those 10hp though...

2. 4r70w.... basic 4 speed electronically controlled automatic found in the Mustang, Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town Car, F150, E150, Thunderbird, Cougar, and maybe a few other SUV's....

3. 8.8" open differential

4. The Marks came with 3.08's in base models, 3.27's in the LSC's... if you want to know all the availiable ratios... well there are a ton! like 2.xx-7.xx and a ton of diff options.

especially one that is pushing 280 at the crank. i do have to say its a ton better than my old cougar. It had the SOHC 4.6L and if there was any water on the road it would spin. havent really driven the Mark in the rain much since i havent been driving it :( but the traction assist should help a bit. I still want a LSD though :(
 
brandon, psyco is right they are 307's..

I often refer to them as 308's but that is just one of my bad habits from the mustang days.

the minute difference between 307s and 308's is probably about the same as 30PSI and 40PSI in your tires.. the ratio difference is barely measureable and absolutely negligable<sic
 
I've never seen em listed as 3.07's in any Ford parts list.... but that doesn't regardless of that I'm prolly wrong... but .01 isn't really important lol....
