I was juster wondering if any of you people who live up north know of any additives or any brands or weights of oil that are best suited for cold winter startups. Last year i switches to 5w30, currently i have 10w30 and i started it this morning and it sounded like a 8-71 super charged big block (not really but the whine was close lol) i dont know if the water pump was whining or if it was the timing chain. I heard amsoil makes good products for winter but im wondering if theres anything else out there since amsoil is hard to find and pricey.
im also wondering...
what happens if you mix half conventional oil and half synthetic? is it bad? the synthetic bonds to the engine parts a little better, but i dont want it to all leak out.
any information is great.
