downloading music files, who do you use?

I use Limewire. Any time I had an issue where it would search and not find anything, I would download the latest version of it and all was good again. I used FrostWire previous to that, which I believe is the same thing.

I go strictly torrents for any download I need. BitTorrent for me is the best downloading client (lets you pick what pieces of the download you do/dont want to DL) and like JW and others said, you can find just about anything.

Mininova, Isohunt, ThePirateBay are all great sites to search for stuff, just read the comments and you'll know if its legit or garbage.
Or just Google (keyword) + torrent and your bound to find what you're looking.

In a way, its great to have more people using torrents, but the downside is more and attention, and pretty soon more regulation. Just like those silly ISP notices.....
 
Forgot to mention the VIDEO_TS dl's:

Only thing I could ever use to view those was the Nero Media Player, and it did show up like a full DVD menu and all. Really a PITA to burn and then rip to get an AVI or MPEG file.

I grew up watching John Cusak ( SP?) movies. I just DL'd Say Anything well not just but it was the last one like that.


Thats what I had to do to watch it. I dont like putting them on disc. That is just a big NO NO as far as I am concerned.


Also UTorrent is the same way as far as choosing what you want. Its good to keep the read me's to at least read once then toss in the bin.

It's private and requires invites. It works on a ratio system as well. If you download, and don't ever upload they will ban you from the community. Just make sure whenever you download, you leave your files seeding for others.

Pm me if you want a invite code. I have a bunch of them.

It's a great site. Since it is private, don't have to worry about keyloggers and such. All stuff is clean. Has no porn torrents or anything. Just software/music/movies/etc.

If you are looking to download full discographies or any software this is the site :)

Where were you a few days ago,... lol? Demonoid is great but for the amount of seeders, amount of uploads and functionality nothing beats Mininova at all.


MAC, not all of it is illegal. Lots of home brew and free stuff gets uploaded to these sites. Also the creators of some of this Software and these websites are in countries were US law will not apply and very few if any laws exist for these cases. Some websites for downloads wont even let you view them if it detects you are in the US for those reasons.
 
Yea I have used piratebay and mininova before. Mostly when demonoid was down...but they have relocated their servers heh.

True they do not have a big of a collection of torrents as some other sites, but you don't have to worry about spyware and such.

Plus if you are looking for something, make a post on the forums of demonoid, and someone will upload the torrent for you. I have uploaded torrents that people were looking for by request. It usually works out.

Edit: I still use mIRC to download some stuff that I can't get on torrent sites, warez channels are still going strong. I hate limewire and the likes. I love my fios for downloading...yummy 20/5
 
I use limewire. No problems at all. You just need to look at the files sizes before you download. Thousands of downloads & not one issue yet.
 
Files size has nothing to do with it. They can beat that. They can match up the file size to a working file and add dummy files and all sorts of other stuff to make it resemble a working file. Plus its damn slow!


Try to get 2. some odd gigs to you in 1Hr or less on limewire:cool:
