Mark VIII convertible for sale

10g's for that many miles and its one of around 12 converted, good luck fixing it when it breaks! my friend dennis owns one and although his is mint, he said you dont want one, they rattle, they leak, and they flex, forget putting one on a lift! he said the worst part is where the door glass meets the quarter glass, you cant have the glass up when putting the top down either or kiss it all good bye. personally, its a total hackjob i wouldnt take one for free.

Subframe reinforcements would only accomplish so much, these cars were designed with the roof structure to be intact. They were never meant to be convertibles. I'd say you're probably cutting out 1/3 of the chassis strength by removing the roof, if not more. That's what's so great about the unibody design, sure it cuts down on weight not having that big steel framework underneath and it gives you lower clearances, but it's nowhere near as strong either.

Why doesn't your buddy at least try and put subframe connectors in his car?

because he is in his 70's, the car gets driven maybe 1000 miles a year and he lives on a tiny island lol what reason does he have to put subframe connectors in it, its basically a show car it doesnt move much.

They have a floppy enough chassis with the roof... It's hard to imagine them without it. Still, it'd be a beautiful thing to drive on in a straight line on a flat surface.
