SNL on Palin!!!

Thanks shag - this afternoon this was the 'talk' at the game - the SNL piece. It is hilarious - and I really like the second one - Lisa Nova?

Hopefully we will see more Tina Fey as Sarah - perfect...

This might be hijacking a thread, but, I am not sure (lords of the board split this off if you deem necessary)- but in the Charles Gibson interview did anyone feel they were watching a beauty pageant contestant - I thought that at any moment I was going to hear those telling words "Charlie, and I want to work for world peace, and help all the starving children in Africa"?

No. That was a typical belittling comment. An attack is still an attack, no matter how sweet it's disguised. Just keeping it real.

Ah, but when this site slams Hillary- even posting photos of her in front of a sign that said COUNT with the 'O' covered up, and commenting on that 'she is one' - you didn't go and stand up for her- not one 'belittling comment' was uttered.
Is this a double standard?

I don't think the beauty pageant contest remark was at all inappropriate - there were times in the interview that her answers seemed quite 'young' and enthusiastic.

Actually, I thought the "beauty pageant constestant" remark was rather funny. Don't take it too seriously, just take it for the tongue-in-cheek comment that it was ment as. ;)

Maybe a little, but I'll take that over:

Well, uh, Charlie, uuuhh, what I've, uh, consistently said, uhm, is that, erm, we need, uh, to get, uh, back, um, to the, uhm, issues that, uhm, so greatly, erhm, threaten this, ah, nation.

The producers of SNL hate Hillary and hate Republicans in general.

Of course they will play this off as 'fair and balanced' when the opposite is true. Is Hillary running for President? NO! So of course the SNL crew can feel free to take belittling cheap shots at her. Throwing Hillary in there was a veiled attempt to cover up their attacks on Palin. Nothing more.

Until I see them rip on Obama and McCain at the same time and to the same degree, it will only be seen by ME as more liberal bias attempting to affect the outcome of an election. Same 'ol same 'ol.

No double standard. I'm just pointing out that you are no different than what you sweetly lament against.

Well, first - I guess Mr Monster you didn't see the SNL with the hilarious skit of 'media members' lobbing softballs at Obama - it was hilarious. And, you know, after that the Republicans really started to hound the press (rightfully so) to start asking some hard questions - SNL did what it wanted to do - by poking fun (of both sides) they show us a reflection of ourselves in a different light, or from a different point of view.

Besides they can be liberal scum - there certainly doesn't have to be 'non-bias' in an entertainment driven TV show. The conservatives can come out with FNL and poke fun of whomever they want to... laughing at yourself can give you good insight on how others view you, and also is pretty good just for your own sanity.

And I don't think I lament much here Kbob - perhaps I do - have I lamented about (whatever this is) before?

And I do agree Foss - the ummmms, ahhhh, ohhhhs, agggghhhhh (that last one is mine) is driving me nuts - I have heard Obama speak without the teleprompter without the cameras and, if he is passionate about the subject, he does well, but this on-camera hemming and hahhing is really hurting him.

Point of order...that skit didn't actually mock Obama, it mocked the media.

yep - it did attack the press - sort of nice - here is the 'liberal tv show' mocking it's own liberal bias in the press... It did however point out how 'soft' Obama is on many issues.

however - the SNL skit where obama is asking hillary for advice - it gets both of them pretty good - and when Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton rate Obama on his 'blackness' - really, really funny.
