i dunno but my car starts bucking for some wierd reason in third at 3600.... i dunno maybe i need that tailshaft lube mod or something, or stock driveshaft not cutting it? That one is still a mystery to me, it could be the tune on there but i havnt ruled it out due to my trans taking a dump, which could also be my issue.

i believe with 4.10's 6000 rpm's would equal 175mph, not saying your car will get there,not enough HP,but rpm wise it could reach that.
i have heard many say 4.10's will hit 149-153 ish , hope you have a good driveshaft

Almost as fast as my fastball! Well, not really, 86 mph 2 years ago in my high school tourney, which we lost.

I don't know...didn't a stock-engined mark do like 170 at bonneville, with basically a stock body with some minor aerodynamic mods?

Why is that? Totally possible, been there done that many many times. I have buried the speedo and gone 500 r's further but ran out of road. Still get in the 20's mpg, lol.

doin 120-125 and hard on it still in my old crown vic. trooper pulled me over ans said she didnt have time to turn the radar on but knew i was in excess of 120.(sounded like i was on a need for speed game,lol) i look at her with a straight face and tell her i was only goin 95. she gave me a ticket for unreasonable and imprudent speed. 6 points off my license, but i drove away. dumb, i know . but who isnt a lil stupid from time to time.

Well then maybe you can go 150 + with 4.10s, I just thought you would run out of gear. I do not for a second believe that you get 20+ mph going that speed. More like 4-5 mpg maybe. Do you know how much fuel your engine would use at that speed & rpm's? not to mention the drag. That is your average, not instant.

I know that's average, but I just like that a car capable of doing 140+ and still being smooth enough to get a clear picture of the speedo, will still average 25mpg.

you must of had a full tuneup and some good tires. cause at 70 I get 24mpg

You won't run out of gear, and you'll get more like 12mpg instant at 150.
Or at least that's what my no limiter Eldo was saying it was getting, it topped out at 153 with it's 3.71 final drive.
That was on I40 in the middle of nowhere at 3-4am, the only car I passed was NM State Police... I killed the headlights as I passed and drove on fogs only, he didn't even light me up.

No story behind that trap speed. The cop who clocked me is a good friend of mine. I did scare the bejeezus out of a tow truck driver, passing him at those speeds. My buddy told me the tow truck driver slammed on his brakes and pulled to the right once I passed him.
And yes, I had 3.73's in it, not 4.10's.

Are these runs being done in third or you letting it shift into overdrive? I've heard high speeds with our overdrive is a bad time.

jbird, you beat me to it, I was going to ask the same thing.
And blenderhead, the Bonneville Mark ran 181 but it ran in third with a 2.97 rear end (not 100% on that ratio, but I do know it was swapped to airplane gears).
