Has anyone tried painting V-8 cam covers?

No, he probably means the actual cam covers themselves.

This is something I really wished I would have done when I changed the valve cover gaskets. If I ever need to change the gaskets again, (and probably will!), I will be painting them.

Just use high temp paint like Duplicolor exhaust/engine/caliber.
