Ok so I have the clockspring problem and don't want to fix it. Its easier for me to just wire a new 12v horn with a switch somewhere onto the dash.

A) Who has done this? I'm not looking for long tube air horns but if thats the only thing with a switch thats fine.

B) Anyone know what the crowdclearing police horn is? Not the siren, its more of a NNNNNT NNNNNNT as opposed to whooooop whoooop. I'd love to have that kind of a horn.

C) Where do I get one with a switch? I've search ebay but nada and haven't gone into any car parts stores yet, I will if they got em though.

Why not just put the factory horn on a switch? But as for the other horns you seek, cant help. I recall someone, I think it was a Mark, installing a massive air horn. It may have been for a train! Kinda scared people - a little :D

You may not believe this, But the only time my horn was blown was at the inspection station!

That's a good idea, I've never delved into the wiring at all, thinking about it it seems simple enough. They do it on my mothers cabs all the time on the crown vics, run em to toggle switches. How would I do this, just cut the horn wire somewhere on the way to the steering wheel and rewire it to a toggle?

I think thats all you gotta do. Jamie97lsc may even know which wires, not sure.

I have factory books, but they are for 96 and things change. If anyone has one for 93 the color codes can be found for sure. Just a horn, so it should be pretty dang simple to do this. Although an after market solution could still be fun! :D

Just put a horn on like this. It's a Hadley air horn, tank & compressor. I have it set @ 160 psi. It's really loud & makes people jump!!!:D

jesse from lod has a train horn under his 95 also. dude if you are that cheap i'll give you a friggin clock spring for free. dont rig up some some stupid horn on a switch, it takes 15 minutes to change the clock spring. and even a new clock spring only costs like 70 bucks at the dealer.

My stock horn works as well & I used a tiny micro swith for the air horn.

I remember one of my friends had a car with one of those HUGE door bell looking buttons screwed on his dash for his horn.:slam Ugliest thing that I ever saw!

Sorry, I just can't resist it.

Hornblasters.com rocks!!!!!!!

We recently got pulled over & harrased by the police pretty good for honking the air horn & talking crap on the PA in my buddies truck. Man, those cops were really angry but they couldn't do anything cause they were out of there juristiction by about 2 miles + they didn't witness it. A fellow motorist called in on us.

Anyways, Like Jamie said you should just fix it the right way IMO.

It's not being cheap about the clockspring, I assumed buying an airhorn would be more expensive, but slicing wires and wiring up a new airhorn wouldn't be something i'd LIKE to do.

If replacing the clockspring is easy enough then Jamie I just PM'd you about getting some parts.
