Im gonna drop 1k on my car in a week.. lse tail light for sure.. lse grill for sure.. but the avic with new front and back 5x9's or whatever it takes.. or the xcal?> performance or sound? i cant make my mind up for this..

If I were you I would do the Xcal first. Knowing you already have the CAI it would be smarter imo to go ahead and get the Xcal and tune your car. I mean it would make me happier then just having a better sound system. But, I guess that's just me.

Tough choice, I have both and I dont know which I like better myself. I wouldnt want to be without either at this point. The AVIC is very entertaining if you sit in traffic a lot. The XCAL is nice if you can get on it once in a while.

Im loving the Avic. The Navtraffic is actually pretty useful in the DC metro area. I leave work, get outside the building, and immediately check the traffic info, and check the color of the roadway for the trip between Bethesda and College Park. If it's red/yellow by Connecticut ave exit? I take the backway. If its green? I hit the Beltway. It's been fairly accurate lately. Last week was heading to northern Baltimore. I95 north was "red" just outside of Baltimore. I didnt believe it. Got off the BW Parkway, headed across 695 to I95 north. DEAD STOPPED TRAFFIC. Slipped across 4 lanes and made it to a random exit and let the Avic reroute me back to the Parkway north. Gotta love it.

exactly the reason i voted for the avic...

are the rebates in the box? im gonna get a new one on ebay..

you have to buy from an authorized Pioneer reseller like Best Buy to get the rebate and the rebate is mail in, not in the box. Most sellers on Ebay are not authorized resellers.

I couldn't agree more with this statement. Now, I like a good deal like anyone else but most sellers on eBay are not authorized dealers and can not warranty the products like other places. It all depends on who will warranty an item if it goes bad. It doesn't take anything to close an account on eBay and open up another one. However, the honest and trustworthy vendors that have built up their reputation to sell a quality item and back it up is getting a black eye to these shady people on eBay.

Buy the Avic from an authorized dealer in your area or on the internet that says they are an authorized dealer. You'll be glad you did in the long run.

If you do decide to buy one off Ebay just ask if they have a receipt from when they bought it from the Authorized dealership. If they do you still have a Factory Warranty. Because the mark up from privately sold Ebay Avic-d3's and Authorized dealer sold Avic-d3's is huge! I have seen them sale for 600-650 on ebay all day long but, on any Authorized Pioneer site they are 700+.

i have no idea what either is... but it looks interesting.. so anyone wanna be a dear and explain it to me ?

i do plan on droppin big bones for my lil sixer i wanna do everything i can to it !! only thing stopping me is some green paper... blah i hate not having a good job yet

xCAL is a performance tuner. AVIC is a stereo/gps unit.

From what it looks like you should just get both.lol 600 for the Avic and 400 for the Xcal with tunes from our site sponsor. That will be your thousand.

Most manufacturers won't allow warranties to be transferred from one buyer to another so be careful going that route. I agree that buying something from some dude wanting to get rid of it will be much cheaper than buying it brand new from an authorized dealer. I'd ask myself whether or not $100 or so is worth risk? I guess I'm a pessimist when it comes to used stuff on eBay. Especially since my wife got burned this Christmas trying to buy me a golf club off of eBay.

Then again it falls back on the feedback system also. I usually don't buy from people with a high feedback score with a low number of sales. I look for the guys in the thousands that aren't going anywhere with great feedback. But, its more like 150-200 dollars in savings. To me it's worth that much. That could go towards the cost of the install.

na.. no exhaust.. its aleady loud enough with the cai.. not what im going for. if i could have it sound like it did with the extra hp.. id take it. just me going 50 and hitting the gas about 25%.. cops heads turn. add that on to my NOT legal NON amber turn signals.. im waiting to get harrassed.

do this...Xcal and exhaust...i repeat...Xcal and exhaust...

Circuit city has it for 999-200=799. Then you add the 2000 rebate on top of that. Not too bad of a deal with the free installation and them being an authorized dealer
