The 95 Mark VIII has HID's!!!

Ah... Moes8 answered that in the other post. I guess i will be ordering the 4.3ks from the recommended seller. Cool.

I have the 6000k's in mine, I like the color but if you want the most light then go with the 4300k's for sure!

I just ordered another set tonight for my friends car. He can't wait!

did ya aim ur lights down? if ya dont u might get a lot of pissed off people flashin their brights at ya and you might get a ticket from a cop.. i aimed my down jus in case cuz ppl did flash at me and dont want any more tickets i want a clean record! :D *knock on wood*

the 5000k I got still look pretty blue to me, especially when I have the driving lights behind the grill on at the same time-I did drive it last night and there is no comparison, incredibly bright. Since I don't think I need the driving lights, I'm going to remove them, I can use the wireless remote switch on my TJ's fog lights, the lights were only cheap $20, so no biggie.
I spent about 15 minutes readjusting the aim since the aim I had with the halogens was so bad (they were so worthless that I actually remember giving up and just leaving them out of adjustment when I tried to adjust them). The 4300k are probably a better choice, the place I got mine from had them even lower than that (down to 3000k). This is a huge band-for-the-buck fix for any Mark with halogens. Driving lights behind the grill do not even come close to this improvement.
Although I did not use unity's perfect ricer vendor, I have to give props-this was the best thing I've seen on this forum in terms of suggestions to fix what is a serious flaw on these cars, and I got it a little cheaper from a seller that is dedicated to selling one thing in large volume, HID retrofits.

"...dedicated to selling one thing..."

Thats funny, not much dedication with all the negative feedback, thats all I am getting at. Heck, in the past month alone 4 negatives and three neutrals. If you have no problem, great, but based on feedback its pretty darn clear who the dedicated seller is.

Not every seller is perfect, but the feedback system exists for a reason. The kits appear identical. Either way when the kit arrives you will be happy. If you want the 4300k, which is what I will go with next time, then you have to go with the more diversified "ricer" seller anyway since intenshid does not sell 4300k.

Great Seller, Item Just as Described, A++++++
tlr6969 ( 1333) -1333 BUYER feedback, also not a *noob*

"All that negative feedback"-less than 1 percent on strictly HID lighting, including the need for the buyer to be smart enough to plug in 4 connections...My point is that this guy sells more HID kits in a month than your ricer source probably sells in 3 years.
Like I said earlier, the complaints are either from morons who can't figure out in five hours or so that they are trying to plug the harness in backwards, or maybe it's a genius who thinks 12000k' looks' like 8000k. Mostly, it sounded like complainers who think they are always right and anyone else is wrong.
I gave you props for the suggestion, but I do notice on your posts that you tend to not only offer good advise, you sometimes belittle others for ideas or choices they make because it is not what you would do-in an uppity sort of way, I'll suggest. Like saying 'do not buy from them-period"-...wtf?
There used to be another prodigous poster on here who did the same thing-he expected others to view him as a wise sage sitting on a mountaintop, spouting wisdom and pontificating as though he alone was the most wise in the land of lincoln. He was quite knowledgable and often helpful, and was also a blowheart- He sold his lincoln that 'got 33 mpg' and was supercharged, or atomic or something, and it seemed better...him being gone.

I think you offer lots of people on here great advise, but I also think you really overdo it sometimes-I bought a kit from this place, I don't know them from Adam, and it took longer to get than I wanted, but I like the quality, communication, price-I actually remember you saying you would get 5000 k if you could do it over again, so I got 5000-still too blue, but see, I do listen, you were wrong but I don't blame you for bad advise, that's on me-it's just a drag when you get up on your high horse...
I am not suggesting to others to buy from them, but you are wrong to discourge others from buying from what is obviously a decent and knowledgable seller.
To anyone else out there dealing with bad lights, buy this upgrade from someone and install it-the life you save might be yours, or big-time posters on here, or some who just know that these cars, with halogens, are dangerous.
I have owned these cars for almost 6 years now, and except for one night, drove them with halogens-one day with HID's changed my mind, there is NO reason to drive without doing this-it is too easy, too inexpensive, and irresponsible not to fix it.
I am done, thanks again for the 'enlightenment' (pun intended).

Um, your on a "high horse" too.

You may not realize this, but many Mark VIII owners have been burned by bad eBay sellers. Just ask Jamie, he is an avid eBay seller and has heard of many bad seller targeting Mark VIII buyers intentionally and not.

Intensehid has bad feedback and I would hate for anyone to get burned again. Like I said, no matter where you get it form you will be happy but your touting intensehid like its the ONLY choice. You actually sound like the seller! You promoted the $77 price point and a link to the store like a bad internet banner ad.

Its really no hard to do the math. And for a seller that "specializes" in HIDs, the feeback is pretty sad. Clearly there are other sellers out there that not only sell hid but many more products, yet they keep their feedback pretty darn clean.

If I hire someone do do electrical work in my house because they "specialize" in it, I expect it done right. But if a handy man has a better reputation, and the electrician is know to scam people, the choice is clear.

That is ALL I am saying. And when that same seller "poses" on here as a forum member why should anyone support him/her?

"you sometimes belittle others for ideas or choices they make because it is not what you would do-in an uppity sort of way, I'll suggest"

And please post a few fine examples. Thank you!

Actually, this is what I said (you should listen less and READ more):

"If I ever get a set again I will go for the 4300k"

See here (my very first post on this):

http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=38416

And you did not get them form the same seller as I, therefore their HID source, as others have said, may be inconsistent.

OK folks, let's all get along. I think the bottom line is that the HID's are a great improvement. Just try to be a cautious & smart ebayer.

I do not know exactly how much whiter the 4300k HID's are, but I am kinda leaning towards Unity's recomondation of the 4300k vs the 6000k. The color of the 6000k is way cool though!

Buy the dang things where ever you want! Just GIT R DONE!

Really, why all the fuss? If you think your seller is better than the other guys-Big Whoop. The point Turborich has made is the fact that Mark VIII owners now have a relatively cheap alternative to the ridiculously expensive halogen retrofits, and buying a set of factory junkyard HIDS that you can't get replacements for. Buy em from wherever or whoever you want, just don't be riding around with a set of crappy headlights when you can upgrade to HIDS for cheap.

For those who are interested in the color temperature values asssociated with HIDs, there are many sites with many answers to questions that you may not know to ask.

From what I have been reading, it looks like 4300K is about the best lighting for drivers. It is easiest on the operator / drivers eyes for distance driving. The more blue in the light, the more strain on the eye. Anything higher on the scale, 8K on up, is a thumbs up for the cool factor on show cars.

Will these make your car like the idiot who was behind me on the highway last night in a Honda Civic.... It was blinding in all directions with this super intense light coming up behind me.

I never had the chance to follow someone or be followed by my mark. But from a distance they look like any other factory HID. No one has flashed me with their highs yet, so I take that as a god sign.

The 4300K lamp has about the same lumen's as my Gen II. I am suggesting that the lower numbers will not be the "annoying" light you saw. If you have the chance, get a Gen II behind you and see if the light intensity and color are to your taste.

OEM HID SYSTEMS

These days, HID systems are available from almost every auto manufacturer. Originally reserved for luxury brands like BMW and Mercedes, falling costs and simplification of these systems has made them available in smaller and less expensive vehicles.

It is important to briefly discuss OEM HID systems since these are the only truly legal way to have HID lighting in most countries.

An OEM HID installation contains the following:

-Philips or Osram-Sylvania 4100k capsules

-Philips or Osram-Sylvania electronics

-Specially-designed headlamp optics

In short, Philips and Osram-Sylvania are the ONLY OEM HID companies. No matter which make and model car you buy, it will contain Philips or Osram-Sylvania HID components. McCulloch, GE, and anyone else claiming to be an OEM is flat-out lying.

4100k is the ONLY OEM HID color temperature. There are very strict DOT/ECE laws regarding headlamp color, making 6000k and up illegal. All OEM HID lights produce the exact same color light; the headlamp optics may change it slightly, as will the age of the system.

Again, remember: Philips or Osram-Sylvania 4100k capsules are what every single OEM HID system uses.

i don't think anybody but unity thinks his seller is better it was just pointed out that this is easy to doand cheep but unity had to add dont buy from somebody, that's wrong, that seller has a good record, a few negs out of that many positives does not deserver that illogical reaction. the more the merrier i say, fix them all its cheep and easy to do

"..that seller has a good record.."

Define "good record".

intensehid: 4 negatives in the past month, 10 for the year.
japanimportshop: 0 negatives in the past SIX months, 1 for the year.

japanimportshop has twice as many sales in the past 12 months.

But I am sure everyone here is smart enough to know how to shop eBay. But like I said, I hate to see Mark VIII owners get burned. Yet there are those who jump the gun and buy right from a link without reading, seen it happen. So to "promote" a bad seller also hurts your reputation. Thats all. Pretty simple really.

i'm gonna have to back unity on this one. better feedback. don't be so touchy, and unity is right, are you the seller? :)

As far as the blinding issues goes, I have not been flashed, not once. I was even behind a police officer & he didn't seem to mind. I think that they are fine.

Rule of thumb... Better feedback = Better seller.
I have ordered my second set all ready.

Ordered mine too! I have gone for the 4300K ones, so will post pics next week to compare the different color temps. :)

I think you will be very happy with the 4300K's. Once you get the lights aimed right you will beable to see the little reflective dots on the road light up at night for well over 1/2 mile. It is amazing how one of these HID bulbs can make such a difference.

The o-rings are just a bit thicker than the stock ones, if you pull you housings out then it's not much of a issue to get them to fit, If not then you may want to swap the o-rings out. Don't touch the bulbs! If you do then wipe em down with a clean cloth & rubbing alcohol. Over all it is a real snap to put these in.

if I lived in California and picked them up, they would have cost $40!!!

I DON'T THINK SO!!! No seller is going to eat that kind of a loss. All of the HID sellers on ebay charge a crazy amount for shipping. It only cost $5 or $6 bucks to ship these. You will not buy these locally for $40 bucks! That is just non sense.
