just installed a new lower control arm! all probelms gone, but the p/o removed the sway bar links to put on his car (another mark viii) so i need to buy new ones. are they the same as cougar/thunderbird links? thanks in advance! oh yea also is there any aftermarket ones for improvement? and if there are, is it worth it over stock...

ok they are the same to answer my own question. I went to a couple stores to get prices. One is TRW -46 dollars EACH.

another is Falcon - they are 23 dollars each. Anyone bought this brand?

there is also an OE brand that is made by a comany under TRW - probably the moog ones people are talking about, they were like the same price as the falcons around 26 each or something.

called autozone ( i dont even know why i bother) they have "duralast" ones for 54.00 each...

are the TRW's worth getting? i checked em out they had a little canadian flag on them... :shifty:

I got the Moog ones from Rockauto. Seem ok - they are a slightly different design to the originals and have grease fittings.

Most of us on the here prefer using moog or TRW, they have a little higher price tag but you get what you pay for. They both have good reputations, which they should, since they are one and the same. Plus most of the oem suspension parts are TRW anyways. Go with what's proven to work in my opinion.

well there was a brand that was OE that was made by sudsidary of TRW im guessing thats the moog ones?
they are half the price of the TRW, the TRW ones are 96 dollars for two - including tax. sound about right?
what did you pay for your MOOG ones. I don't have a Oreilly or Rockauto around here, just autozone, advanced, A&A, and Napa

Rockauto is a website, not a store. Check 'em out:

ok will do but hey my local advance has the TRW ones available right now - im pretty sure they are the ones supercoupeperformance sells because they are around the same price.

i dont mind spending double the money because i knwo you get what you pay for but - if they are both stock... with lifetime warranties... or heck i havnt got a reply yet on if that sway bar even has to be connected - i read that some even disconnect it for drag racing ??? but if its crucial for alignment?

the moog ones have a slight bend in them in this picture vs the cheaper ones

also im a bit confused when it says sway bar link kit ( does that mean it comes a 2 sway links for driver and passenger? ) also sway bar link kit vs sway bair link "repair" kit - ??

Yup thats the ones i got. ^^

Im pretty sure that the price is EACH. (phone 'em and check, but im pretty sure)

yea it says LINK when i go to buy it so its just one. it makes sense the TRW ones are about the same price and moog and trw are both owned by Federal Mogul.

the only difference i see in the picture is that those moog ones, have a slight bend in them then the other brands -

but what im trying to say, if both have a lifetime warranty and both are oem spec. why pay double the price for the TRW/Moog ones?

and its obvious that the moog/trw are going to made better, but they are both new... and they are not hard to install -?? i dunno im on the fence on this one. im about to just get the pricier ones, because im sure im going to get called cheap again if i go with some other brand. :D

Get the good ones - they will last longer. Warranties don't mean alot (they're mainly to cover defects in manufacturing) - they won't replace them due to wear and tear! Lol.

Remember: Being 'cheap' with critical parts will just cost you more in the long run. Do things once, do them right!

As you have no links to remove, fitting will be easy! (a few mins)
