sprint lowering kit vs eibach

I have the Eibach pro kit with 18inch wheels and 40 series tires. I initially had a 45 series 18 inch setup with stock suspension, then when those tires wore out, ended up by accident with 40 inch. (ordering error on my part). So, I ended up with a bit more wheelwell gap than I could personally tolerate, hence the installation of the Eibach Pro kit. (also put on fresh Sport package OEM shocks all the way around at the same time).

I didnt measure, but got a mild drop. No rubbing, but I do have to creep slowly over speedbumps. The going up is fine, but the drop down can cause the subframe of the car to smack the top of the peak of the speedbump. As long as I go slow enough, no problem. Oh..and those parking space concrete curbs? They will smack the front lower part of the bumper cover now if Im not careful. Ride quality is still very good, and handling improved.

thats weird that the rear drop is farther but the front sits lower. any other eibach droppers have a similar story?
and NYC any chance i could get some straight side shots so I can see the front end dip?
 
I measured mine before and after the install of the Eibach Springs. Mine dropped 1.75 inches after they settled. 19" Konigs with 245/35/19 Dunlops. The rear does look to sit a bit lower, but doesn't. I take my LS to the deal er for oil changes. I have to take a two 1x6 boards(two for each wheel) to drive up on. So the lift will fit under the car. I have had the same experience as others with the quick change oil places as well.

Eibach's.
Mine sits just a bit lower in the front, and they did lower the car more than the 1" advertized.
I like the very sleight rake they created. The stance is very nice looking in my opinion.
So far, no problems on anyone's rack, but I do creep over the speed bumps.
 
i dont know in all the photos i see it looks like the front is higher than the rear, are there any straight on side shots so i can see the forward rake? i like the idea of it and all..
 
I think you are looking at the distance between top of tire and bottom of fenderwell, when you'd get a more accurate perception by looking at distance between ground and skirts in rear/front and distance between ground and lower part of front bumper cover/ground and lower part of rear bumper cover.
 
yea that is what i'm looking at, is there a way to make the wheel gap similar front to back?
 
Im selling them because I moved to a new house with my parents and the car has to sit on th street because it can go up the driveway and into the garage.Maybe ill buy some Eibachs or even trade my Sprints with some money for the Eibachs

I have an 01 V6 auto with eibachs and Jag 18s, the rear seams to a little lower then the front (it might also be my imagination for perfection). I would like the front to be a little lower. Don't know why. Maybe becase I have a lot of new front suspension parts in it and the rear is original.

Hell yes! the only difference in smoothness you gonna fell when there is more than 2 people in the car, with 1 or 2 the ride is almost the same.

I have a friend whose house is similiar, except Im almost positive the driveway wasnt built properly. Its a basic 2 car garage home, with the basic driveway, but the apron/front part has a steep slope to it. Even on STOCK springs, when I would go visit, I had to creep up and out of that driveway at an angle. That would prevent the exhaust tops and front bumper cover from scraping

I can only speak for the Eibach Pro kit. They reduce your ride comfort level (on the LS) by maybe 10-15%. But the handling is increased by maybe 25%, and to me, the slight lowering (expecially with a nice set of 18's) increases the sleakness/look factor by say 30%. So to me, definitely worth it. And trust...I HATE a harsh ride. If it were harsh, I'd tell you I messed up by dropping it..

If you look at most stock LS pics, the visual is the same. There is slightly more gap in the front wheelwell than rear. My BMW is the same way. All stock suspension pieces, but slightly more gap in the front

Not exactly a straight side shot, but here is my LSE with Eibachs. They lowered the car slightly more than 1.5". I must be very careful at car washes, speed bumps, driveway entrances and car lifts.

From a design perspective, it makes sense since the front wheels steer and must have enough clearance for the front tire when at maximum turn and full bump suspension travel.
 
hm. true. i wish there was a set out there that evened them out, however us syracuseans were pummeled with rain ice and snow storms all weekend so i think i'm going to go with the eibach's less significant drop.
