Damn it they are taking away my license for speeding in NYC, i am trying to think of any way out of this bad scene. Does anyone know if i go to another state and get a license tranfer to there would it make a difference. the bad thing is they want to suspend it the day before my Birthday :(

personally, i would take it like a man and deal with the fact that you got your lisence suspended. ive had mine suspended before, and yeah it sucked, but i lived through it. itd be better to not drive with a suspended lisence, than to be caught with a suspended lisence. also, idk about new york, but in michigan, the cops may run your plate anytime, and if the car is in your name, it will come up that your lisence is suspended. this means that there is reason to pull you over. that will lead to them throwing sand on your ass, and raping you raw.
 
Ask an attorney about getting it reduced. In some cases if you pay the total up front you may get a chance to have it reduced or get it back. If you really need it back for other reasons try to ask for just some points, but I wouldn't do that unless you really need it back.

No matter what your license is gone.....

I had mine taken away and I never knew it cause it was a request another state made to Penn Dot and Penn Dot never notified me of it so I got it even worse yet. About 2 years ago I had quit smoking cigarettes, a few days before I had thrown a cigarette out the window and some dick head cop pulled me over for it. I didn't know my license was suspended so I got nailed, big fine and furthering my suspension (along with takeing my car) that I didnt even know I had and it had just started a week before!.
 
It is best not to drive on a suspended license. I have had mine taken twice, once in MO and once in AR. In MO I lost if for 30 days and continued to drive without incident. In AR I lost if for 90 days and got caught about 2 weeks before I was supposed to get it back. Court gave me 10 days in Benton County Jail for it. NOT FUN! The laws in your state might be different but that has been my experience.
 
DunIt the same thing happend to me. I had a ticket from South Carolina that I paid but it got applied to someone elses fine. SC sent a request to Penndot to cancel my license and I didnt find out until I got pulled over. I almost went to jail over it. And it took several months to straighten out because Penndot kept telling me they would not reinstate my license until SC sent them a clearence letter and SC said they would not send a clearence letter to Penndot. They would only send one to me. Penndot said it had to come to them only. Dont drive with a cancelled license. If you get popped you will be screwed. You may try to ask the judge to grant you permission to drive to and from work. I had them do that when I lost mine.
 
Penndot sucks a$$. I had to do the same thing, but I still got no where for at least 3 months after I was supposed to get my license back. I had the letter of restoration ready, I had the state that gave me the original suspension give me and Penndot the info they needed, and I payed the restoration fee but I got dicked around saying its not in the system and all that BS kinda crap yet!
 
thanks for the feed back, if it does get takin away can i get a restricted license because i do need 2 drive everyday its apart of my job ....i was doing 98 in a 50 ...big mistake and i guess because im under 21 they take it more serious
 
You would have to file for one and see if they decide its a good enough cause, some people do get rejected in PA.

I would seriously look in the phone book for a attorney and set up a consultation just to at least try and get it turned into points or even better just a ticket with more cost, sounds bad but its not that bad and at least you wont loose your job over it.

I dont know how NYC's local courts are but by me they denied me a work permit and my license was only suspended because of 2 10-15mph tickets, most likely because I was only 19 at the time. You'll be lucky to be able to drive your car at all, I wouldn't push it either, have fun getting a good insurance rate once you get caught driving without a license.

ya no kidding. even with a suspended license, your insurance is gonna be through the roof. i was paying $1400 a year for a 1990 ford tempo with a 4 banger and manual transmission when i got my license suspended 5 years ago. that was for plpd. i can hardly imagine what your insurance will be with a suspended license for a lincoln ls, and then if you get caught driving it.

i know in michigan they give you permits to drive to and from work. i heard of one kid bringing his parents in with him so his parents could convince the secretary of state to not take his license and he got just probation.
 
First he has to appeal which he may not have done or may have plead guilty already if so he cant do anything now.

I didn't get raped on insurance, I got my license suspended without points is that why?
 
My advice to u is to not drive, take the hit now when its only 30 - 60 days susp.

Few years back I lost my license for 4 yrs. Mainly due to driving without a license 8 times " sucks living in a small town"

Between lawyer fees, bail fees, insurance cost, and the fact I almost got jail time "great lawyer"

Luckily I only lost it 100% first year than second year I got a Hardship License which let me drive 7am - 7pm, with full year clean doing that I got full license back.

Sooo trust me take the hit now, could be alot worse

I MUST be getting old. I mean..I can kind of translate Snoop Doggs "izzle nizzle" pig latin foolishness. And I know who T.I. is. And I can kinda do the "Soldier Boy" dance...

But for the LIFE of me, I can't decipher this guys post. And I've read it 5 times. WTF.

must be, cause i had 8 points and was only 17 which is why i got it suspended, and high insurance rates. must be if you dont have points they wont up insurance, whether your license was suspended or not.
 
...it's totally irresponsible to drive without a license.
And if driving is your livelihood, don't screw around pushing triple digit speeds in a 50mph zone.

And what's the deal with all the deadbeat, unlicensed drivers around here. Reminds me to increase my "uninsured motorist" coverage.

Translation: Attention fellow motorist! Do not get caught driving with a suspended license. My friend / relative / acquaintance was arrested for doing this and had his car impounded. I do not know if the police were being unreasonable or if that is just how the system (The law) operates. :joke
